Fernet Darkness tasted like Darkness aged on mints and pepperoni at Rare Beer Fest. Passing on that bottle for sure if I go.

Any speculation on ticket package costs? More or less than Dark Lord Day?

    Y
Yeah, I find it pretty tasty. It is not my favorite bitter, but I feel like people are conditioned to think it's awful and greatly exaggerate the bitterness when the have it. It's no more bitter than quinine or Campari to my palate, and it's a unique flavor profile among bitters, so I enjoy it.

Interesting to see if this will sell out & if so, how fast. We'll be skipping our first Darkness Day since 2007. Just doesn't seem worth it, unless the guest breweries are killer.

But anybody who wants to unload their Fernet Darkness, you know where to find me!

Yeah, I'm really curious about the guest breweries.

I wanted to attend but Zwanze Day is a tradition. Maybe next year.

So you gotta go all in to get the variants... The fernet doesn't interest me, the other two might be good but I don't have the confidence that they will be awesome to drop $200 to get bottles. Seems a little steep, even with pours.

But the campgrounds ,bottle share, bands ,food trucks, drive you would miss all that.

Kind of hard to justify the $120 package when you can get in for $25.

I think you are misunderstanding. The $25 seems to be an upgrade and requires another package to enter. Presumably the cheapest you can get in is the forthcoming $35 package.

I don't think it is any steeper than buying Darkness on shelves. Figure each token is worth $5 or so, that's $20, plus $35 for admission/campsite, which is $55. That leaves the six bottles costing $145, which is ~$24 per bottle.

Whether you think that is worth it for what you get is another story, but the cost of Darkness has not really increased.

The band announcement is what will ultimately make my decision. Maybe I will just go bottle-less this year. The fact that it is on Zwanze Day really sucks, too, and means I may not attend at all for the first time in six years.

Here's my question. I usually camp out with my brother and his wife. If we all buy the $200 to get the beer, do we get 3 camp sites?

It's like there's a tier missing of "beer but no camp site."

$200 for 3 regular Darkness and 1 of each rather underwhelming sounding variants? Hard pass.
