Wow haven't started one in a while. I had a boss who used to joke he fired people by telling them to take a vacation in the Thousand Islands, and to spend a week on each one. Two. Three. Four. Havin' a Margarita-esque beer for breakfast today, because I too am on a looonnng vacation AKA retirement, and this is for sure one of its benefits. Cheers!

Good on you, Dave! I am counting the years ( a few) and months and days until I can join the retirement club! I have been working since I was 12 (parents had a business I helped with when I was a kid), so getting up at 5:30 daily is getting a bit, shall we say.....old!

    In the meantime....there is beer!

    fresh local beer at that!

Congrats man, hope you enjoy it as much as I am enjoying mine! I was working since 14, also had significant chunks when I didn't work due to traveling, and due also to tragedy. Also very significant numbers of years where I double shifted when we were saving for the house, and for the thirteen years I owned a maint. business the hours were sick, vacations non existent, so I was way ready.for this. Cheers!

Benefiting from our local expanding their craft section I get to try this . . .

Attractive clear gold color with creamy white cap and lacing.

Pleasant grain scent with some light melon notes.

Flavor is straight forward AAL in it's approach. I don't know what makes up the grain recipe in this brew but it really reminds me of PBR in taste, feel and finish. Flavor leans toward the fuller bodied style and the beer is better for that, I also notice some richer malty elements as the beer warms up a bit.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

Tourist beer is the phrase that comes to mind which is to say one of those things that taste best on it's home turf.

No need for congrats just yet - still working for a few more years unfortunately! If my financial situation would allow, I would do it at 62 (less than 2 years from now), but will likely be a bit later than that! Enjoy yours!

    Good morning BA
I decided to keep it light after some lawn mowing...

Had to use a sample glass for the appearance part of the review, but really wanted to break out the new (to me) stein as well. Another second hand stein that still has the stickers on it! I thinking of starting a movement #steinsarefordrinking
If I'm the only one, at least I'll be smiling:wink:
Cheers all! I've probably got one more in me since night shifts start tonight...

Took Mrs. Z to the train station in Syracuse this morning so she can see some folks in NYC. I ran errands and did some chores since then...back home and it’s beer time:

On the thin side, but bourbon barrel boozy at 12%...just the eye opener needed to kick off an afternoon of beer drinking, er, I meant farm and RV chores...

Stein pic bomb away! I bet most of us have steins sitting on the shelves rarely used...I’ll find a stein (I passed on some great ones during a rural farm auction in Maine last month) during my trip, and join in as soon as I get one. Cheers!

A little something with substance to it. Bit of a FRA-DEN snoozefest but neither team was forced into scoring or in desperate straits. A decent 0-0 game although France dominated possession... Denmark at times looked a lot more dangerous. Makes me nervous for the elimination games...Happy for Peru to pick up a win though. Cheers!

Lovely beer. It's a pity that it is already three months old and summer is just starting.

Another yummy beer in a 69 cent Goodwill glass. My wife asked if I really needed more beer glasses when I brought this one home Sunday. I replied "there is no such thing as too many beer glasses."
    Cheers all!

Best canned gose in the series I've had so far. If they ever can the triple cherry I'll be a happy man.

This beer is a bit disappointing. Thought it would at least be on PBR level. Talking about disappointing Argentina is next.
