Heed the advice. $4 tasters aren’t worrh it. Poor glassware they use. Hard to discern the taste and aroma. Half the beers will be indistinguishable, just variants of an IPA.

Pick a couple and do full pours. Trust.

I think you have pretty goods odds, they have been releasing a lot of Moasic Dream& Daydream... I definitely think this will be a no line starting after 11 kinda day, so you don't have to battle case buying mules for beer.

Yeah they don't give you a break on a flight of tasters... But if it's a big boy 10%+ beer they charge $8 for 8oz pour so it is the same price to grab just a 4oz pour.

    The good old days:

    4 4oz pours for $5. $6 includes a tasting glass.

Most mules will also be going to Grimm - who coincidentally is doing case counts on their first ever real can run LOL

So very true, this statement is. (though I'll use the 4oz tasters for stouts.)

Back in the small taproom days I would tell people to skip the pint tumblers($/oz be damned) bc the 12oz snifter is just a better glass for drinking beer, especially high end IPAs.

then there will be mules at HVB for a sour IPA release.

possible chance that you can walk into OH, Grimm, or HVB after 1PM and grab a solid allotment (maybe not full) with minimal line.

perfect storm would be for Kane to drop a bottle release Saturday and keep some of the jersey crowd on our side of the bridge.

If you can get there earlier I would since you’re from out of town - just so you don’t risk it

That said - combination of the beer itself, and stuff happening at other breweries on the same day, I’d say chances of it lasting well into the afternoon are very high

You could write Economic PhD thesis on mules, case counts, & line life in regards to the NEIPA. Grimm coming on line great, increase the supply of substitute good beer so we locals can experience less demand for OH. OH is the closest brewery to me so they'll still get most of my beer money, but if lived in north Brooklyn/Queens I would have jumped ship awhile ago and funneled my money into the more local places bc of ease.

How come nobody on BA seems to be talking about the LIC can release. Are they not in the same league as the aforementioned?

They don't seem to quite get the buzz they deserve.

LIC's Both Sides of the Rainbow is amazing. Right up there with Hollows and my lord and savior, Pile of Crowns. But with the standard OH fare, Grimm's new opening, Hudson Valley, and now I think EQ will be releasing stuff this weekend, it's gonna be overshadowed.

Don’t think this has anything to do with it, but rather trade value and social media: OH generates bigger trades, and more likes via familiarization with product

...key word "buzz," as RobNewton pinpointed

i like them. However, unless it's like PoC, i don't think you have to rush to get there to get an allotment. My only time going for a release, I was able to get 2 of 3 cans at like 6PM.

Yeah, I don't think the wife and kid are going to allow me three stops in one day for cans. Definitely have to hit Other Half which is close to where we're staying, and Grimm is close to shopping and other stuff. I can't think of any other reasons to go to Long Island City (the place.)
