I dont know why, but I the looks of a good cold break. Does anyone else agree? If so let's see that cold break ****! The after math of my Saison today. Using wlp 670
Damn I should've taken a picture but I whirlpooled while chilling last time and the wort was super clear so you could see right through to this perfectly spherical alien looking blob of cold break in the center. It was crazy.
Cold break and open fermentation are perhaps my two favorite things in brewing (other than drinking the beer).
Mine always looks like swamp thing took a deuce in my kettle! Well the after math anyways.Damn hop head.
You should be targeting a tighter more dense break. You will have less loss, and clearer beer. Depending on how cold you chilled, thats more likely just hot break though. To get good cold break you have to chill to around 40f. Lower knock out pH, and a kettle clarifier help a lot.
Ha, I knew I’d eventually have a good place to post these... 100% Cryo hop trub looks like a dying star.
