If you're not driving, and even if you are, it's nothing to swing around from OH to LIC on the F train. It just sounds far cuz 3 boroughs and all.

Thanks. Yeah, doesn't look too tough. But my wife is insistent I don't turn every outing into a beer outing. Though oh how she loves to haze it when I get it home.

The view from Gantry Plaza State Park is the great, tops for looking at the midtown skyline. I like to grab a 4 pack from LIC and split with buddy while enjoying the view. Also great KC style BBQ nearby at John Brown's Smokehouse.

Used to live in Astoria and really upset that LIC and Singlecut (hell, all of these breweries) weren't there during my time in NYC. Staying with fam in Park Slope next week so really thankful for this thread

    No, it really wasn’t
These threads have really improved since the lack of dhaakon input. Please don’t try to fill the gap rozzom
Can’t wait to see how quick dhaakon starts shitting on the Grilmm thread after preaching in here that they will be the savior against the oppressive OH capitalist oppressors. My over/under bet is under 3.5 months

Space Hallucinations is starting to taste really good. Was a bit of a muddled mess right out the gate. Now that it's mellowed a bit, you can really notice the separation of the strong galaxy flavor on the front end and the sweetness of the lactose on the finish. I think it's quite the remarkable beer with a dangerously hidden 10.5% abv. Galaxy. Forever. Like seahorses. (anyone?)

    Apples and oranges!

I think my favorite 2 things about this thread every month are the conversations we'll have about everything other than beer, and the lightheartedness @rozzom brings. I like to think that by reposting this thread I'm giving the artist his canvas.

You're from Pennsylvania so I assume you read numerous PA threads, which means you get presumably much more of Evenmorejesus than all the rest of us who just have to deal with him on the Beer Talk threads and you're complaining about dhaakon and rozzom?!? You buggin.

Just a quick handful of points @guzzle211 , but that’s all I’m going to manage because I’m pretty upset right now and it’s hard to type.

    1. This is the first time I’ve managed to upset someone with a three character acronym

    2. That was a pretty tenuous segue into shitting on @dhaakon (who otherwise thoroughly deserves it, so hard to argue much further there) - pretty gutted that he’s such a clear front runner

    3. Oppressive oppressors are the worst

wtf @rozzom bad jokes is my territory on this forum. extremely disappointed that your sophisticated british humour stooped to the level of my low brow no-class Jersey sense of humor.

now excuse me while i got shit on the Grilmm thread. done with all the capitalist bootlickers on here.

Grilmm thread needs some drunk dhaakon math to determine how many beers can be had from the barrel structure.

I was hoping for midweek citra + galaxy. I'm so glad I didn't use my long lunch break this week on Citra Daydream.

Should be off the hook like Cashmere + Galaxy. They rarely do DDH to the half + halfs it seems, pumped for this beer more than anything on Saturday.

Lame that they changed the label, the old one for DDH Citra + Galaxy was really cool but I guess they want to be consistent.

It feels like they took a long break from the Half + Half , now they are back big. Think they'll ever bring one hop 7% IPA, black label with the hop name written diagonally.

Back big is right! This is the fourth one in June! We had African Queen + Mosaic, Citra + Ekuanot, the nearly lost Cashmere + Galaxy, and now Citra + Galaxy, all bangers. Though I guess there were none in May, we got Citra + Idaho 7 and Galaxy + El Dorado (maybe my least favorite of the bunch?) in April.

I thought the 7% single hops weren't as consistent and were less delicious. It's definitely cool to get to know the single hops, but other than one batch of mosaic (THE FIRST!), a batch of citra, and ddh galaxy, there were a lot of underwhelming beers.

Equinox, Centennial, El Dorado, Amarillo, and Cascade were all underwhelming.

Speaking of Cascade, when is Magic Green Nuggets getting the dream treatment to become Magic Green Dream???? That will be a weird beer.
