Other Half (June 2018)

The 7% Mosaic was my first can I waited in line for, I bought a case of it, it was magical, I guess I want that beer(experience) back. Also I kinda like the smaller ABV when drinking a tallboy to my head.

 

The dual hop and single hop series are my faves besides some of the staples (still hoping we see Hop Showers and it's variants more often as they continue to ramp up production). I will agree that some of the single hops haven't been that great, but that last batch of Citra was awesome. Also miss Galaxy, Nelson, Mosaic, and Amarillo single hops. Agreed that 7% is an ideal abv, but OH does seem to really shine in the 8%+ category.

 

Anyone recall when the last drop of Citra + Galaxy was? Cant remember if it has come out since I moved here.

Iirc they did two + Galaxy beers on one Saturday, Citra & Motueka

 

Yeah, I definitely recall having it on tap at OH earlier this year

 

Just grabbed some Citra + Galaxy... They still have Citra Daydream cans if anyone is wondering.

 

The citra galaxy is the most opaque OH beer I've seen in a long time. Tastes pretty good though.

 

I just swung by and grabbed cans plus had a pour of Green City. I work in the city, but have never been to OH because driving to Brooklyn on Saturday is the last thing I want to do after commuting to Manhattan all week.

These midweek releases and OH being open during the afternoon is going to be such a game changer for my beer fridge. The fact that I can take the subway to OH during my lunch break to buy cans of beer has made me more excited than I really should be.

 

How long does your employer give you for lunch breaks?

 

i'm jealous. Much like you, i am not a fan of driving to brooklyn on a Saturday - but OH is like a 40 minute subway ride from my office. We move down town in a few months so maybe at ~30 minutes it becomes a bit more manageable to run over there after work/half days.

 

FWIW, I bought two 4-packs (more than normal). Haven't done that in many months, maybe a year.

 

Galaxy heads grab this, not sure what I like more Cashmere + or today's Citra +.

Random thought should they not call their lactose infused Galaxy IPAs, Milky Ways?

 

On paper it's an hour, but my office is pretty liberal with long lunches as long as we don't abuse it. I very rarely take the full hour and always eat at my desk, and my boss is aware of this. My team in particular also works on a monthly deadline.

 

still a decent amount of both beers? contemplating a fly by after work

@guzzle211 ^^^ this isn't meant to be intentionally offensive FYI - want to make sure I'm up front about that. I have no issue with either OH or the aviation industry - I respect both. As I do people who work. And those that don't of course

 

There was an entire unwrapped pallet of Citra + Galaxy outside of where they normally do the can sales when I left around 4:30. I also wanted to mention that there was also 3 full pallets of wrapped Florets cans, seems like they are canning an insane amount of beer now (and 2-3 pallets of the other beers for Saturday from the look of it). No idea how much of the other beer from this week was left but there were a bunch of cases of it behind the bar. I wouldn’t be surprised if both lasted until Saturday and most of Saturday’s beers last well into Saturday afternoon/evening. OH hates locals /s
