Just wanted to bring up the idea of a preferred customer club or reserve society. Is this something Jester King has considered or would ever do?

I love the fact that Jester King hasn't done online sales with their releases, because it likely rewards locals who support the brewery the most frequently and can easily make it there for the releases.

Having said that, what about a club or preferred society solely based on spend at the brewery? These members could have first crack at magnum releases, the ability to set aside special release bottles, etc

It’s been discussed many times here and the consensus is, it’ll never happen.

The idea of a preferred customer club solely based on spend at the brewery? Not something you can just buy into on your own. I don't recall that having been discussed.

You want a club that you can only be invited to join by the amount of money you spend at the brewer? What level do you propose is the initial amount to be considered and do those who spend more get even earlier than those below them in the club?

That would be up to Jester King. It's just nice for patronage at a certain level to get rewarded or some perks, ala a wine club. It's not that crazy of an idea.

Yes, I agree! The people with the resources to outspend everyone else are in dire need of of additional advantages. In our current system they have to wait in line with all the plebs.

Craft beer is in an interesting place right now, where many breweries have no problems charging high premiums for their products, desiring for their consumers to behave a certain way and yet the experience and service at most of these places has not really caught up.

Things like this would be a way to reward loyal costumers with some benefits. That's all.

When I'm on the inside I always support these types of arrangements, but when I'm on the outside they always piss me off.

Is that not likely to favor locals? Isn’t that what you were hoping to avoid?

Not necessarily, considering the fact you still need to visit the actual brewery to buy bottles or get pours in the taproom.

Also was trying to look at it from a business standpoint, from JK's perspective as well. I don't claim to have all the answers.

It seems everyone is trying to poke holes in this idea, yet many well known and successful breweries have it implemented and it seems to function pretty well.

I’m not really interested in joining such a club. So I’ve never really looked into any.
Are there some that are based on the amount of money you spend there? I thought they were all membership clubs where you just pay to be a member. You may never spend a cent at th actual brewery.

Highland Park Brewery in LA for example, automatically opted patrons spending a certain amount into the club, no further purchase or membership fees necessary. No joining per se.

Your status could then naturally move in and out of the club based on your patronage. Thought it was a cool idea.

Not saying JK should do this or that it's the best idea in the world, etc... really just wondering if it or something like it had been considered.

This has been discussed many times before, and their official policy has been "It's not going to happen".

@mph005 don't think this exact model has been discussed, but I could've just missed it.

JK fruited sours sit around for multiple weeks lately and the releases aren't as crazy as they used to be.

Jeff has stated in the past that they do not like, or want to have a membership club for the brewery. They want everyone who wants to try it to be able to, and not a select few.

Just go to the brewery like a normal person and enjoy the atmosphere where the beers are created.

Jesus, Ice you’re still here?! This horse keeps getting beat long after the horse has been sent to the glue factory. It used to be more prevalent when there was less beer to go around and those who missed out would get pissed. Honestly, the only thing that sells out within a few hours are the special fruited 375 bottles.

    @pidevo @starkmarvelo To your "points":

    1) I do go to the brewery and enjoy it just fine
    2) Magnums and spirit barrel aged fruited 375ml's
    3) Wine/beer clubs often provide free tastings, exclusive cellar options, etc for members
    4) JK said no to it before they started doing magnum releases, and it wasn't this exact idea to my knowledge

But they already do a lottery for the magnums that work out just fine. And I’m sorry, but I feel like memberships are just lazy for both parties. The buyer throws money at the brewery so they don’t have to put any effort into getting beer, and the brewery has guaranteed money even if the beer isn’t very good (not that JK would do that).

Still hanging around. All the excitement of the “good old” days are gone. Even JK releases aren’t getting spammed anymore. This subsection is really slow these days.
