Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Supposed to be a nice clear day for weather. I hit my 7000th review last night, so I need to make a beer haul later today as expected. My parents decided to both come up next weekend, since my dad needs to get surgery in the week. My mom was originally going to come this weekend alone.

Amazing IPA as always. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, apricot, mango, citrus peel/rind, pepper, and pine hops; with moderate honey, toasted bread malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/bready malt and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very drinkable and not overly aggressive. Even with the new hops they added for the 1.1 version, it still tastes like the original Chinook/Centennial hop profile the most. Hope we keep getting these fresh cans more often now. I will keep buying them. Perfectly balanced juicy and dank hop complexity; with a nice solid malt backbone. A true classic IPA. Pretty much just as impressive as the first time I reviewed it over 6 years ago. WIll have to get another pack next time I see it fresh. Got some Arrogant cans a few weeks ago.

This is mind blowing stuff. Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, fudge brownie, molasses, bourbon, vanilla, coconut, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of raisin, prune, date, licorice, tobacco, soy sauce, smoke, and char. Moderate roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spice on the finish. Huge full body; balanced creamy/silky/slick, sticky/chalky roast, and tannic mouthfeel. Drying finish from tannic bourbon/oak and chalky roast malts. Fairly warming, not too boozy finish. Very smooth. I am amazed at the amount of complexity that is opening up as it reaches room temperature. Enormous barrel presence, but also a ton of malt to back it up; so it doesn't become too dry, tannic, and boozy on the bourbon notes. One of the best imperial stouts I've ever had. Tweak is my favorite from Avery and in my top 15 reviews, but this is still in the top 50 of all beers I've had.

    Cheers

I just completed a brutal leg-workout. This beer makes for delicious post-workout nutrition. Thank you, @drunkenmess! This song is my favorite for deadlifts. It seems to have the ideal tempo, or something.

Insane NEDIPA. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, grapefruit, lemon, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, and light peppercorn/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy/silky/bready wheat mouthfeel; light sticky sticky hops, slight resins. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness. Minimal warming 9.1%. Insanely drinkable, perfectly soft feel, never aggressive. Loved the hop bill. The Columbus, Centennial, Loral, Simcoe hops provide more dank/earthy complexity, and a touch more resin drying than Boss Tweed. Maybe not better than Boss, but super close. Insanely juicy and fairly dank hop complexity; with perfect wheat/oat malt balance. Never overly sweet/heavy for the ABV. Will be a go-to all summer along with Greenstone.

2016 is tasting amazing as usual. Flavors of big caramel, raisin, cherry, fig, date, apricot, apple, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, bourbon, and toasted oak; with some lighter notes of molasses, vanilla, and coconut. Light balancing bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish against the sweetness. Minimal warming ABV or barrel booziness. Very smooth sipping; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, and lightly slick/syrupy full body mouthfeel. Touch of drying bourbon/oak tannins, no cloying. Love this the most after at least 1 year of age to smooth out the boozy barrel notes. Perfectly balanced. Glad that this just sits on the shelf all year, one of my favorite cellar beers ever. English barleywines are my favorite style, and this is my go-to for the style basically. Price and availability are hard to beat. Still more 2016 4 packs on the shelf some places.

If you are asking me, it varies quite a bit, but today, it will certainly be more than @JamFuel and @CanConPhilly combined.

I thought so. You should send him some Ringnes Pilsner to review. I would like to see his thoughts on that classic beer.

Good morning, BA. And a gorgeous one it is.

Drinking this crisp, cold lager (yes, put me in the lager love camp) as I prepare to watch Sweden go head to head against England. Will @JamFuel be watching?

Angus hates nothing more than wearing clothes, as you can tell by the expression on his face. But even the dog needs to represent sometimes.

Dry brining some pork chops (touch of sugar and a lot of salt) that will sit in the fridge for the next 8 hours before grilling.

    Enjoy your Saturdays, BA!

    Morning BA!

Last night a tree limb apparently fell on our power lines so my apartment complex has no power. They did caution tape around it, thanks GA Power... So, I snuck this quickly out the fridge and it’s just about at a perfect temperature.

First time having this didn’t see it much initially when it released last year but grabbed the last single the other day at the store; and it’s fantastic!

This isn't just about me loving Yards.....this is my favorite pale ale. So light and lemony. Doesn't have a caramel sweetness at all. And happy the put 3 of their beers in 16oz cans. Cheers.
