I'm back home and back to old habits (taking pictures of beers in the kitchen and avoiding chores).

Another classic from Sierra Nevada. I haven't seen this in years. Only had room for a single in the cooler on the way home. Cheers all & enjoy your Monday!

 

Starting my day with some strong coffee, then on to cleaning, packing, trashing, etc.

 

Something light-ish.. gotta hit the dentist and doctor today on the same bloody day. Grrr...
At least my copy-edits are done and there's FRA-BEL tomorrow. Here's to a great match (hopefully). Cheers!

Modern Times Lomaland

 

Good morning, BAs! Heading for my mom’s place in Canada (Newfoundland) on Thursday, so trying to drink down my fridge before I leave. At least the ipas.

This used to be my #1 favorite beer. Now I’d place it in the middle of the pack. Veil, Other Half, Trillium, etc have corrupted me.

 

It's been a long but interesting and HOT day for us on our vacation in Israel. We toured Masada, floated in the Dead Sea, drove through the West Bank, and are now at a resort north of Tiberius. I'm starting the evening with Malka Brewing's Admonit (meaning "reddish") Pale Ale, an English-style pale ale, with a picnic dinner courtesy of a local grocery store. Cheers from Galilee!

It's lager time. . .







Three Heads Brewing Craft Lager

Clear light golden color with white cap and lacing.

Malty rich aroma with what I first thought were Noble hops singing in the background but then noticed a piney citrusy thing going on as well.

Taste is definitely in the malt camp but hops form the frame of this malt picture. This is full on malt for a pale lager but it's not at all sweet, rather dry and restrained, which gives way for the hops to be noticed without their having to fight for attention. There is a sort of lemony citrus element to the hops which I find refreshing.

Medium full texture with balancing carbonation.

For an all malt lager that's seasoned with but not dominated by hops this one's pretty good.

We traveled Israel with our daughter several years ago. The highlight of the trip was visiting Petra in Jordan. We stayed in Eilat for a few days, went across the border, hired a driver, and spent the day in Petra.
