I can’t tell if this is a one time thing, a limited thing, or eventual full distro. Either way, after only having Daisy Cutter (and enjoying it) I’m excited to try some of their new stuff. Instagram post by Provisions Market in Orange:
They have done this a couple times. I remember a drop about a year or two ago. Maybe it was just LA county though. I know I saw the Pilsner in a shop.
I cannot recall the liquor law, but they are coming out for MT's Festival of Dankness....so I believe they have to have their beer out here prior since they are typically not distributed in CA. Although we (as in San Diego) usually reap the rewards since the breweries send kegs to all of our big bars and do mini tap takeovers
I think they are most known for their Pale Ale Daisy Cutter. Good beer (nothing to get your panties in a bind) but it’s good enough that I’m anxious to try their other stuff.
It's a Chicago based brewery. Their beers, especially Daisey Cutter, used to be big hype beers. I'd compare it to toppaling Golliath sending out their beers. They are good, and 5 years ago they were at the top of the game, but the game has passed them by. Just my opinion.
Knowing your preferences, I’d say you wouldn’t be impressed. Bitter, old-school, non-hazies. Some of their beers, like Double Daisy Cutter, we’re serious trade bait back in the day. Regular Daisy Cutter is killer on draft on a hot Chicago afternoon.
I go to the Windy City a couple times a year for training. I always bring back Half Acre, Revolution, Pipeworks, Mikerphone cans/bottles back with me. There's not much of the haze going on in Chicago. But it's getting better each visit. These brewery's are legit in my book. Mikerphone being the newest of the bunch. There are some more that are pretty good brewery's that I have not visited yet. But some really good WCIPA & clear beers coming from Chicago. Also look for Three Floyds Zombie Dust Pale Ale (not from Chicago but found in the city) which is an outstanding hoppy pale ale.
If I see it at the local bottle shop, I'll be sure to pick it up, if it's anything like Pliny, I'm sure I will LOVE IT!
