Yep -- walk-in purchases are available tomorrow at 1p, if you didn't have a chance to pick up a certificate. We'll also have some fancy snacks tomorrow (Bang Bang honey pie and duck sausages from Paulina) to pair with the Kriek -- it's on draft all day, and will be until we kick the kegs (so maybe a couple of weeks ...)

    Thanks, all.

Thanks, are bottles of XO2 still available?

Sure are! I love the X02 ... it's sooo good in the hot weather. Just sour enough to quench your thirst, while still embodying all those lovely, water cracker-y malt and light spicy hop characteristics of the Lager. (And I'm saying that as a beer-drinking human, not as a Dovetail employee)

Got to finally check out Dovetail today and enjoyed it completely. Man the crew there was great. Very knowledgeable and personable across the board. Didn’t have time for the tour but got to try their Kriek, ox2, pils, lager, and maibock and enjoyed them all. Ox2 was the standout for me. Not sure I’m a kriek guy. Really hope I can get back there sometime.

Did Kriek bottles sell out yesterday?

Still being sold at 7:30pm when I grabbed mine. Limit was 2 cases and people were grabbing 1-2 bottles (I pre-purchased 2 in June) so I highly doubt it.

yea made it out there yesterday to grab some bottles. Fair warning to anyone coming from the West Burbs, it is a hike! I'm in Darien and it took me about an hour each way. I didn't stay long just had a kriek and bought 3 bottles but place was def pretty cool, wish it was closer!

Given they got like 4,700 bottles, I think they will last a while, get in and enjoy! Awesome cherry with vanilla from the wood. I'm very excited to try the next few fruits that get made.

I'm here right now, I'll update people on the X02 and Kriek.

First update: the lager is still really good

Would definitely appreciate a bottle update/taste thoughts if you have it on draft. Hoping to make it up there in the next day or two

Yeah, I'm definitely trying them both on draft. I'll ask about the bottle count, looks like they have a ton behind the bar.

So the X02 is quite good, but go in expecting a very mild beer. Great for easy drinking with a little tartness.

I really like the Kriek. They've extracted a different cherry flavor than I'm used to getting in these beers. It's not sweet and bright, it's deeper and almost... savory? If cherries were chocolate I would say this is dark chocolate and most others are milk. Not sure if it will be everyone's cup of Mtea3, but definitely get over to try it. Also, I just had some Landjäger so that's probably changing the taste a little.

Still lots of bottles according to the bartender.

    Great to hear on Kriek.

I love X02. There's really nice funk there. It would be superb in cans for summer (please give us cans of your standards, Dovetail!)

Lol, here is a new one. I just got a text from mom with a screenshot of the Josh Noel article on this kreik followed by "Lambics are the only beers I like." I'm not sure whether this was a heads up to me for an interesting beer or if I'm being asked to be a mule...

Looks like Capone’s got some Kriek. I have to imagine The Beer Temple is getting some too

I think this Kriek will be around for a while. Had a ton sitting at Dovetail yesterday. $22 for 16 oz bottle is pretty steep for a new beer from an up and coming brewery.

“Up and coming brewery”. Not sure I quite get that

They're relatively new ... its their first kriek, I get what he's saying ... I just trust Dovetail enough to not think twice about the price point. Until they prove otherwise, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on all beers.
