Good morning BA, have a great Saturday. My parents are coming up today, so no idea what I will be doing later on just yet.

Awesome stuff. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, vanilla, toasted oak, coconut, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate honey, toasted bread, light caramel/nutty malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and oak/tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/silky/bready malts, sticky hops, oak tannin, and some resin/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/tannic dryness, no hop astringency. Very drinkable, not overly aggressive, 7.5%. Did not like it quite as much as the base beer, but still very impressive. Same great juicy/dank/earthy hop complexity, and balanced pale/Munich malt backbone; with added coconut/vanilla notes from the toasted white oak. A little less resinous, but the added tannins retain the same dryness as the base beer.

Amazing batch this year as usual. Flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, fudge, brownie batter, marshmallow, vanilla, caramel, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of coconut, smoke, charcoal, raisin, fig, cherry, and dates. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Light-moderate roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spice on the finish. Very full bodied creamy, silky, velvety mouthfeel; some light slickness, chalky roast, and barrel tannins. Lightly increasing dryness from bitter char and bourbon/oak tannin. Very smooth sipper, mildly warming 12.9%, zero barrel booze. Definitely a step up from the base beer on complexity, super rich. Classic RIS flavors with awesome barrel presence; without being overly tannic, drying, or boozy. Love the marshmallow/fudge brownie notes that come from the barrel aging. Gets easier to find with every release.

    Cheers

Still listening to the new album. Doesn't top Omnivium/Cosmogenesis, but pretty great stuff.

Amazing as usual this year. Aromas and flavors of huge mango, melon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, guava, berry, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, and pine hops; with moderate honey and spicy rye bread malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hops earthiness. Good sized pine, citrus rind, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied with balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resin/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin/rind dryness, minimal hop astringency. Very mildly warming ABV, dangerously smooth. Insane dankness across the board. This is basically just imperial Born Yesterday IMO, very similar if not the same hops. Ekuanot, Galaxy, Simcoe, and Mosaic was the first batch, probably similar here. This has all of the same dankness at a much higher ABV, while remaining well attenuated and not overly sweet for over 11.3%. Mosaic and Ekuanot are my favorite hops.

Fantastic! Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, nutty pecan, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, fudge, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, cherry, fig, date, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, and herbal/peppery hops. Light-moderate herbal/spicy hop and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and full body; very creamy/silky/bready malt mouthfeel; light sticky hops and chalky char/roast. Lightly increasing lingering hop/char bitter dryness, minimal acrid/astringency. Mildly increasing warmth of 12%. Very smooth sipping. As expected, not as amazing as the base beer, but still really impressive. Very well balanced dark/black/roasted malts, flavorings, and solid earthy hop presence. Would get again easily.

    Gearing up for a busy day . . .

Beautiful clear deep amber gold color with substantial cap and lasting lacing.

Aroma of sweet, rich caramel malt and floral hops.

Taste on entry is malt forward which does strike me as caramely but not sweet. Rather dry actually with a sense of fullness without going over the top. The floral hops add a nice touch as they are present as a topping but don't add bitterness.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

Another Aldi offering that's well priced and food friendly. A slightly more grown up version of Shiner Bock.

    Good morning BA
I'm home from work and no one else is home. Time to enjoy another beer I brought back from South Carolina...
I didn't know this was six months old until I poured it and could read the date on the bottle. Not much coffee left but still nice.

First of my Rye on Rye homebrew beers. Pulled one gallon out of a bigger batch and aged it on oak chips soaked in Rye whiskey.

Pretty good stuff. 4 ounces of Knob Creek Rye puts a nice little kick in a gallon of beer. Cheers all, it's definitely nap time for me!

Black Tuna. Also, here is a Pipeworks beer from the very generous, @Danmullens1. Thank you, sir! @THANAT0PSIS was spot-on with his review of this beer, so I am going to play his excellent musical recommendation.

Happy Saturday ba. Getting into it here with the same nice ass beer from last weekend. Waiting for my sprinkler dude to show up to start on my summer project of re-doing the back yard landscaping. Once he’s done I’m looking at a nice long day of knocking back brews. Notch ‘18 players,

Paris has been beautiful, but their beer game is lagging. At least we have a game to watch.

Happy Saturday, BAs! Rainy and low 50s in Newfoundland today. A nice break from the 90 degree summer of Philly. Starting today with a Newfoundland-brewed ne ipa called Chasing Sun, from Port Rexton brewing. They’re not quite competitive yet, but it’s impressive for a new brewery on an island that has not yet embraced craft beer, and especially hazy ipas.

    Good Morning, BA!

Just finished watching a fantastic semi final Wimbledon match between Nadal and Djokovic. Happy to see Joker in the final tomorrow. Onto Serena as she goes for her record tying 24th title.

My wife is at a “sprinkle” for my cousin’s fourth child. It’s ridiculous and it should be ridiculed.

Later this afternoon, we are walking next door to our neighbor’s house for some outdoor summer eating and drinking.

Should be a fine day. Hope yours are too, BA’s.
