I saw there was an old forum on this topic, but I’m hoping to get some newly updated opinions?

I think I’ve boughten up all the Sour in The Rye locally, and at $7 a 750ml you can keep em coming lol

Any other suggestions are appreciated since other people might have no limit, but preferably lower price range options, thanks guys

The only sour I've tried and liked was lagunitas aunt sally. I'll have to revisit that when I see it available...

Give Destihl a try, I believe you can get them in Nevada. They are about $10 a 4 pack. I had some of their sour beers, pretty solid stuff.

Lagunitas sours are always well priced (Aunt Sally, Dark Swan, Cherry Jane, etc.). I notice Duclaw out of Maryland always has reasonably priced sours as well.

Don't forget about Gose (pl?), Anderson Valley should be available, as well as Otra Vez, and Founders + Sixpoint are worth visiting also.

Man I must live in wrong areas, because Love Child and Sour in the Rye 750's go for $20+ where ever I've seen them.

Rodenbach Grand Cru, Lindemans lambics, and Petrus are all easy to find in stores and pretty cheap. Hansenn's aren't cheap, ($12-$20 for small bottles), but they are about as good as you can find in a store.

Most of the stuff you guys are listing *aren't* wild ales and hence that's why they are cheap and affordable.

Allagash Little Brett is a really nice beer for around $13 a 4 pack. Crooked Stave also has stuff in that range, although they seem to be cycling through different releases lately. I bought a ton of Hop Savant cans earlier this year.

If you are lucky you can have a Kroger that prices all the Cascade ales at $16 a bomber, going by to grab some tomorrow

New Glarus, but they have basically no relevant availability. $12/4pk of wilds, Berliners, and Oud Bruins.

I think Destihl is an awful recommendation. Their (canned) sour program is useful for peeling paint (the single bottles are better but not cheap).

Now that Crooked Stave is in cans, they're a great option, probably the best from a value perspective (Lagunitas sour stuff is just okay).

So much misunderstood nomenclature with sour and funky beer. When I hear "wild", I assume "brett beer", like the De Proef Flemish Primitive Wild Ales and not "ambient inoculation/spontaneous fermentation". Sour is just that.

Unless we're talking about hot side/kettle sours, I wouldn't consider many wild/sour beers to be affordable, unless you catch a store clearing out unwanted inventory. From what I've seen, popular European producers, like Cantillon and Drie Fonteinen, tend to not only be expensive, but hard to come by and the same goes for quality stateside producers, as well, in that their traditional beers are not widely distributed sometimes being sold only at or around the brewery in question, and the ones that do make it to the shelves are wildly overpriced, like the sour beers from Cascade.

Two gueuzes that I find to be pretty widely available, very traditional, and on the less expensive side are:

    Girardin Black Label: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2541/6317/

    and

St. Louis Gueuze Fond Tradition: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/212/5212/

There are others (like Petrus, Haansens, Liefmans, etc.) that are of good quality, as well, but might tend towards the more expensive side of things.

≈ 28¢ oz. Nice. My budget 50¢ - $1 oz. Not sure what you can buy in Nevada. Think national.

I dig Almanac. ≈ $1 oz. Almanac typically fruity & nicely acidic. Some funk. Anchorage typically funky & good. ≈ 75¢ an ounce. Crooked Stave very high hit rate. Quality. 50¢ - 75¢ oz.
