    My guess is that they used Kveik yeast, which is Norwegian. Triptych has been doing a hazy pale called Fjord for a while now. It has the Norwegian theme of a fjord because it uses Kveik. I'm sure some internet sleuth who is more motivated than me could quickly determine if I'm full of shit or not...

    I'm fine with calling it a Nordic IPA on the can, but calling it a Nordic NEIPA like they did on the instagram account is just over the top.

    on the hierarchy of pettiness, this may actually supersede the faux pas of how distastefully certain breweries design their cans.

    I’m not sure what a Nordic NE style IPA is but Fjoggy Fjords is a really good NE IPA, period. Marz is just crushing that style and right now is firmly planted as #2 brewer of that style, in my personal rankings, in Chicagoland. Juicy, citrusy with a good mouthfeel.

    Dry IPA Galaxy is also solid. A bit dry and maybe bitter for how most people prefer NE IPAs, but aroma and flavor is of ripe tropical fruit. Would gladly order both again.

    I am quite intrigued by the festival, but with Far & Away the weekend before, I really don't think I can swing it. I still haven't even made it down to their taproom.

    I see them posting about some of the beers that you can pre-order with them...do those eventually make it into distribution as well, or are those ones just through Marz?

    Yea most of those beers make it to distro, they just do the pre releases for people that for sure want bottles so they dont have to drive around hunting for them. Pretty good idea.

    I think you accidentally posted this in the Marz thread instead of the Maplewood thread.
    If this is a rebirth of Juice Pants in canned format, I really, really hope it is a Roger reformulated version.

    Went to Marz yesterday.

    Noon on Marz (collaboration with Noon Whistle) is a good NE IPA style offering. Tropical. Sweet. Descent mouthfeel. Drier finish.

    Pigasus was not the typical milkshake IPA that we expect. It is clear yellow-amber appearance. Strawberry becomes most noticeable at the very end. Not bad, but not like some of the better offerings here (Blazed Orange Milkshake or the MoRE marbles milkshakes).

    Double Splash isn't quite an NE style IPA, but it has some nice citrus sweetness. Tastes stronger than the 8% abv, but enjoyable non the less.

    {What do the Bros. have against colored text? :stuck_out_tongue:}
    I'll still include it in my posts and let the forum software delete it in post-production. :smirk:
    I've just registered for the regular portion of Marz's Liquid Dreams event on Sunday afternoon. (I considered Half Acre's "Far and Away" event the previous weekend [way too expensive for me, but I hope the Half Acre guys profited], but aborted it for Friday night pre-Far_and_Away @ the Beer Temple], and Sunday's "Evanston Oktoberfest" [which a subsequent e-mail related it will likely be renamed next year].)
    I'm looking forward to this fest. Although perhaps I have an advantage related to other attendees. The transfer point from the #54 Cicero bus to the #31 31-35th transit bus puts me very close to any number of superb non-chain food stands like Scatchell's. So you can perhaps guess where I will eat before arriving on the Marz's premises.
    I could perhaps out-do MeTV-FM on WLPN if it would give me a shot. But then, maybe WLPN doesn't want to have a program which goes that far back in the releases of music. :relaxed:
