I was over on the new release forum reading about Stone's new 6 pack format for w00tstout this year. I haven't been into big stouts, quads, or barley wines very long, so I am not sure if any brewer has ever released a beer bigger than 10% in a 6 pack format?

Yes. One that comes easily to mind is Victory's Old Horizontal. Several years ago you could buy six packs of 12 oz bottles of Old Horizontal.

Those are all really good beers too, wonderful examples of value. I'm gonna buy a sixer of victory at sea soon, its been too long.

Victory At Sea was the only BP 6pack that I thought was worthy of the hefty price tag. Well, the Peanut Butter was too.

Edit: Forget that. The Peanut Butter I had was on draught.

I know pricing differs, but I've gotten it as cheap as 10-11 bucks a sixer. The ipas of theirs had a higher price last time I looked, but I don't really touch their ipas.

$13 to $14 here. And yeah, their IPAs aren't worth the big bucks.

Usually outdated/shelf turds around these parts. But @Lahey is right, a few places have them for cheaper. About $10-$12/6pk
Used to be (when 1st distro'ed) almost $14.99 or more/6pk

You'd think that after selling out for $1 Billion dollars to Constellation, the prices would be gentler on the wallet???

Constellation has to make that money back somehow and ballast point isn't that hot of a name right now.

I would think that quantity as in expanded distribution would be an easier route to take with lower prices.

Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout at 10%

A couple years ago, I found them ON SALE for $4 a 6 pack (it was out in the boondocks). I bought a couple of those and felt like I had just hit the jackpot.

Stone has also done it before, such as this year’s Totalitarian Russian Imperial Stout at 10.5%.

    Honestly, I guess it's a good deal, but I think anything beyond a 7% 6-pack is a bad idea.

I believe odd side ales has released numerous six packs of higher abv stuff. I believe their barleywine, imp stout and dipa are in six pack format
