Couldn’t make it today since I have to be home by 1pm and the travel time for me is close to 2 hrs each way. Definitely will make the August release as long as it is in the middle of the month! Hopefully the weather holds out for you guys.

Stun Gun was the winner for me, as most sour IPAs I've had usually tend too far in either direction towards sour or IPA and SG was more of a marriage of the two. I get both the fruited sour side of it -- though the sour is more a tartness than a sour, so think berliner vs. wild ale -- as well as the fruity hops from the IPA. It has a beautiful golden orange hue to it as well.

Spritzer was great, the yeast being the prominent note in the right way with the wine notes playing a supporting role that, while distinctive, didn't overshadow the beer itself. I'm planning on breaking into the brewery this week to steal a couple more six packs to keep for a BBQ so I can crush them as I light meat on fire. I would say the same of Spritzer Bomb, but replace the word yeast above with hops. SB had a great, soft mouthfeel that really pulled all the different parts of the beer together. I would not, however, crush SB while grilling as the 7.7% would likely lead to me lighting myself on fire.

As a whole, I think this is my favorite release since Bean day in terms of how good all the beers are. We'll see how I feel after trying the beers again in the next few weeks.

(Because the tip should be $8.)

Disagree. $10 on 8 beers is undertipping these days!

Its not a tip tho - its a non-taxable contribution to a beer research fund.

We are kicking off a big formulations meeting/planning/calendar tomorrow, and this discussion will include many of the future small batch releases through the app.....

Wanted to put this out in the open because I know many of you are passionate about the topic!

Does anyone have any suggestions, ideas, or recommendations for upcoming formulations or themes?

As we discussed at the brewery (in person) and in previous threads, we already have:

    - Bean Day 2018 (whole new lineup of barrel-aged porters, set to hit this Fall, have been in the barrel for over a year!)

    - Lager themed release (this one is still in planning, want to get this dialed in properly!)

    - New Hop Strain NEIPAs (showcasing some of the best upcoming strains from NZ, AUS, and the US)

    any other ideas?

Shane (@Sixpoint), have you considered making some Belgian Ales? There are the Abbey/Trappist style ales. Also, perhaps a beer where you use Brett as a secondary yeast.

I recognize that you sometimes (often?) like to 'color outside the lines' so maybe a Cranberry Belgian Pale Ale?

    Cheers!

I’d love to see another Jammer day, perhaps focusing on exploring how Jammer changes with different fruit additions? Citrus is great of course, and the Yuzu was deadly. Are there other tropical fruits that could work here too? Thinking Passionfruit Jammer, Guava Jammer, Jackfruit Jammer, etc. No one has yet made a beer with Durian...perhaps Jammer is the medium.

A series of pale ales with the same exact grain/hop bill but different yeasts (especially one with a Kolsch yeast).

Trying to perceive differences between hops is so 2017. The second half of 2018 is for the #yeastboiz

Doppelbock. A weizen day with a hefeweizen, dunkelweizen, and a weizenbock. Maybe a bock day, with a bock, doppelbock, and weizenbock. As much as I like Wild Raspy, I think it'd be fun to see you guys do a full-on sour program. A Christmas-themed fundraiser for the Salvation Army with Sixpoint, Sierra Nevada, and BBC where you brew Celebration, SN brews Old Fezziwig, and BBC brews something you guys have done in the past, but everyone puts their own twist on it. The possibilities are endless!!

Great idea -- build up yeast making a tafelbier that Mikey has to serve at the release in a monk's robe and then use the yeast to brew a dubbel, tripel, and quad.

Also a good idea. A mainstream twist would be the use the same malts/hops/water for a base NEIPA and ferment it with S04, Conan, and London III.[/QUOTE]

    Great ideas!
The most recent Raspy was really nice-- bring it back with similar treatment and different fruits/combinations?
While not original or groundbreaking, what about a great DIPA single hop day? Could do the "crowd favorites" galaxy and citra and mosaic or similar....

I’d love to see more fruited berliners. Lil Raspy and Blackberry Raspy have been two of my favorites from the small batch releases. I think you guys could have some fun with that and maybe add some unique touches, Mad Scientist style :sunglasses:

Edit: Just saw the comment before mine right after I posted this. More berliners!!
