cheers you all and hiya. Today i am trying this beer and thank you so much to @2beerdogs . I am claling the series of tastings and food pairings i am doing with it "Cook the Box." And I am having a great time doing it. Thank you . This is Beauregarde.



blueberries and lots of wood. spice and a firm hop herbal. grasses that are just bitter even to the nose. the wood sinks a bit as a gentle sweet funk cmes up to to meet the blueberry. a vinegary note on the nose. pours almost a hot pink. fast falling head of eggshell colored foam. very hazy but not opaque. A malty sweetness also seems to come forward a bit shyly to reveal the sweetness of the blueberry. Drinks like a tart blueberry. This beer had the most hop presence so far of the beer I have tried form them and the most abv so far. I think these hops are a bit citrusy too. finishes with a sour that has a sweet little kiss under it. So the mouthfeel is just slightly different form the other beers I have had which finish completely dry. For instance in the dry beers with the sour finish your entire mouth is even in the swallow. In this beer the focus is on the throat or the back palate after a burst of mouthwatering acidity . I think this beer is going to compliment my dish because of that sweetness which belongs to the base style here, the blonde ale. sweet cracker malt. How about blueberry chicken?

FJ Summit is an annual event in Ouray.
We had a great time off roading in the San Juan NF. Didn't make it to Ourayle House, but did hit up Red Mountain Brewing in Ouray along with Ouray Brewing. In all 12 new breweries on our trip.

Modern Times 5th Anniversary is Hott!

Rather cool this orning almost like the beginnings of early Fall, or so I like to think. Hope springs eternal and all that . . .



Beautiful clear deep amber gold color with substantial cap and lasting lacing.

Aroma of sweet, rich caramel malt and floral hops.

Taste on entry is malt forward which does strike me as caramely but not sweet. Rather dry actually with a sense of fullness without going over the top. The floral hops add a nice touch as they are present as a topping but don't add bitterness.

 

The wife said, “you’re drinking this early?”

I told her, “it’s happy hour some place....”

Tried to hang on to this longer, but since I got it in 2015, hey why not. Bottlecraft and Pizza Port collab, Beeramisu. And it was delicious! Loads of chocolate and coffee. It’s a creeper as well. Started feeling it after my third of fourth sip. Cheers BA!
