Corona with a lime has its place in the world. Busch and PBR at the Indy 500 and Corona with a lime on a sun deck on the beach with some nice fish dip.

For many, beer is primarily an alcohol delivery system, and I recall Corona being a very unobtrusive beer.

But don't quote me because I haven't had one in at least twenty years.

Some people like it and I wish them well.

I'll say something good about Corona, It can be, under the right circumstances the best beer in the world.
Let me explain, You've been out spearfishing all day from the 12 foot Zodiac in the Sea of Cortez, on the way back to El Cayote beach near Muleje you stop in the shallows to gather a bucket of chocolate clams and scallops. Hitting the beach you are met by your wife and friends that made a trip to the cervesaria and have an ice cold Corona waiting for you, you sit down on a log near the bonfire and tip that ice cold beauty into your very thirsty neck.
Oh ya, sometimes it's not the beer it's the experience. For that one time Corona was the best beer in the world, and I will always like Corona, I may not choose it up here in the PNW, but I'd drink the hell out of it in Baja.

Last time I was at Hooters, they were doing a promo and gave out free Coronas to anybody who wanted one. As many as you wanted too. Free beer is good beer!

Lick salt....bite the lime.....throw bottle of corona in trash. Not good on its best day.

The only time I find it acceptable is on a very hot summer day, with a lime. Other than that...

I can sympathize with this...but wasn't there any Dos Equis Lager available? The harsh graininess of Corona's base malt, coupled with the very distinct presence of corn adjuncts, just kills any enjoyment for me (granted, the same jarring graininess of American 2-row kills many U.S. craft lagers for me as well). I just find this beer nearly undrinkable.

You can't take the reality away, Corona was there and it was great. Now if i had a choice of Mexican beers , of course I'd choose Bohemia or Negro Modelo. But Corona was there, it was great, I wouldn't change a thing.

It's a beer for people who don't like the taste of beer. I would never pay a premium for alcoholic grain water, but many are willing to do so. I hope the marketers who made Corona the number one import in the United States were handsomely rewarded because the brewers don't deserve the credit.

Not trying to take anything away from the experience at all. Sorry if it came off that way. I'm sure if I were to ever experience anything close, I, too, would welcome the Corona. Just that given a choice I might have opted for a Dos Equis.... Still, your post makes me want to travel to Baja. Cheers!

I buy a 12 pack of cans once in a while to drink watching a football game or playing Xbox. For $11 it's not bad and I like it more than some beers in the craft category.

    Corona?

An absolute necessity in my household.

I always have a case on hand for emergency situations....like when the water plant has a shut-down and we still need to use something to help flush the toilets. Works great......!

Corona gets a passing grade from me but there are cheaper lagers that taste just as good.

Understood. I get your point. In fact....that is the whole point behind BMC advertising. It is obviously not the world class taste of one of the worlds great beers. So.....they package a feel-good experience and link it to the product. It works. We as consumers, IMHO, need to remember the experience for what it was and not fall prey to linking a particular product to it. Otherwise.....loosing my virginity in the backseat in the McDonalds parking lot might have me thinking they were the greatest burgers in the world!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Corona Light is horrible. Corona isn't much better but it has a small amount of drinkability.

In all honesty it's one of the worst beers in the world. As it warms up and starts to have taste it becomes even worse. Like ThickFreakness said I believe it may be urine gathered from those who drink real beer.
