Ignore user, but still view their threads

    Personally I think there should be a tweak to the logic that means if an ignored user starts a thread, you see the thread and the first post.

    Huh? When any user starts a thread, you see the thread and first post, which is theirs. And - what's an "ignored user". Did you mean "ignorant"?

    If you go to a users profile, you have the option to "Ignore" as well as "Follow" and I'm pretty sure that hides all posts by that user.

    Oh, OK. Not sure why I'd want to see new threads by someone I've ignored.

    Sadly, had to use that option twice. But in 3 years, that's not a bad average...

    I actually think it makes sense to see threads started by ignored users because, after all, other people are gonna post in there as well...

    I have also used it twice......first one for a very annoying member and second one for a member who feels the need to post in EVERY single Thread regardless of whether or not they actually have something to add to the subject....also pretty good for 6.5 Years...(Wonder if it's the same two? haha)

    Very droll and typically i’d agree

    But what if, for example, the person regularly initiates WBAYDN. As it stands you’d never see the daily thread if they’re the one to start it

    Haha fairly sure we overlap on the second one. But he’s not a big thread starter. The first one I ignored (I also have only ignored two in 7 years) regularly starts threads

    @dbrauneis , is there, somewhere in the background, a list of most frequently blocked members? Who is the "leader" so to speak? Plus, is there a way to tell if you've been "ignored", and by who?

    It hides posts but not threads. Proof is this thread as I could see the thread but not first post.

    I'm not sure if that information would be available to anyone other than @Todd, @Mike, or @Jason at this point in time - it is certainly not something that I can see or access.

    Is this a joke/tease of another user or is this for real? I have personally never "ignored" another user so I have no experience with the feature.

    If he ignored you he wouldn't be able to respond. But then if he ignored you how did he know you started the thread. This is very confusing....

    Although, I think I might use the feature now that I know it exists. :neutral_face:
