Enough to make this the “most expensive”

Another thing I was curious about re: instagram announcement was the “3 x the normal amount” of vanilla. Three times the normal amount by what measure? This could definitely open up an Augie Carton “what is DDH” can of worms

 

Even though the IG post says 3x the normal amount, the label on the bottle only says double vanilla. I'm going to ask a random McDonalds worker how much vanilla they think the bottles have when I get my 2 for $2 later today.

 

3x the amount OH typically uses when putting Vanilla in their stouts. 3x by their standards.

I guess my point (which hopefully makes sense for anyone that listens to Augie’s podcast) is that if you’re making a beer for the first time then arguably you can’t label it as having double or triple the amount of anything.

Plus in this case it’s a collab. Are they speaking for the other breweries too? Is there an industry standard for vanilla?

I know I’m being a nitpicky m*******r, but this is the OH thread after all. Just think both terms unnecessary.

 

any of you OH-minded BAs know much about Bissell Brothers in Portland? (i know i could be asking this on the bissell thread, but i trust y'all here). Headed up that way at the end of the month for a week but I only have one can release day that I can go to... which can should I aim for with options of Substance, Reciprocal and Nothing Gold? I've had Substance before and thought it was excellent.

I think your point is that their marketing doesn't make sense, and I think you are right. Same thing as putting DDH on everything.

I've had all 3 and they are all great. Since you've had Subby before I'd go for either of the other two. My personal opinion is Nothing Gold is one of their best, but Reciprocal is up there, too. Maybe check out the hops in each if you have a preference.

 

Recip is my fave of those 3. Galaxy bomb, if that's your thing.

Personally Nothing Gold is my favorite. It's like their summer version of Swish. I bet you could find people to trade in person some OH for recent other Bissel releases too.

Its a 5 way collab with 5 of the hype-ist breweries in the world and also people are dumb so seems plausible? I'm hoping I can swing by after work and grab stuff.

 

Confirmed from a source there is and was absolutely no line, but I’m sure the taproom will fill up fast as people finish up their morning meetings and will be a total fuckshow after 5.
