Triple Broccoli is a boozy mess IMO. I don't know what I was hoping for but maybe a top 3 OH beer to the third power. I'm disappointed.

 

Agreed. I generally stay away from the double digit abv IPAs from OH, but I was hoping maybe it'd be comparable to their anniversary beers. Got through 6-8oz before pouring out the rest.

Do you guys light cigars with $100 bills when you pour pricey beers down the drain?

 

I don't hate OH for making a few bucks, I knew S&D curves would stabilize... Also I suck at typing/editing on my phone a few beers in (even stone cold sober)... I'm half joking but I would not be surprised if we get triple cheese broccoli. Since the cheese on triple cream looks like brie to me, I'm guessing TDH Brie Broccoli.

OH are Yankee fans, I asked to put on the on the Boston/Houston ALDS last October they told me Yankees only, I was wearing a Yankee cap and assured them I was gonna hate root for Houston..

 

That's big gap on the broccoli teku, it's as legit as Magellan being the first man to circumnavigate the globe.

 

Well makes sense that they are Yankees fans. Brooklyn = Dodgers = locals.

Dodgers moved to LA a few years ago, the Mets try but they aren't the Brooklyn Dodgers. They should tone down the Dodger crap, it alienated my NY Giant fan Grandma, I guess she had those first few years at the Polo Grounds... The Wilpons hate locals much more than Walter O'Malley, he had decenancy to just dump Brooklyn vs being just plain abusive.

 

Speaking of brie and broccoli, I was sorta hoping the collabs with the four other breweries would continue in the vein of naming beer after food. Like they would create five different beers named after five "staple" foods based on the location of the brewery. So Other Half would be pizza, Trillium would be NE clam chowder, Monkish would be tacos, Cloudwater would be fish & chips, and The Veil would be whatever the hell Virginians eat. Thought that would have been a pretty cool concept.

 

Not gonna argue with that. Fuck the Wilpons. No true Mets fan is a fan of them.

 

I definitely wanna get a hold of this. I do think Interboro is doing much better things on the lager front than OH. El Pres is a pretty cool collab given the bars involved, the timing to coincide with the Dominican Day Parade and the homage to Cerveza Presidente.

 

So... did anybody like anything from this release? Personally I skipped it as nothing rang out to me except the dual hop. But then the reviews came through, and well, I just thought maybe the upcoming midweek release may be more appealing.

Thought the Dual Hop was/is tasting excellent. Tons of Galaxy.

The Kolsch is great as well. Very refreshing and spritzy. Really hit the spot on the humid Saturday, yesterday.

Did not crack Triple Broccoli yet because I know it will need a little time to settle down.

 

I really thought this would be my first time in a long time where i had nary a single can of OH in my fridge. But after @crowlcrowlcrowl's post I figured I should at least grab a 4 of the dual hop solely for academic purposes.

 

You won’t regret it. Also your fridge should never be without OH.
