My other thread got locked, so here we go. I made a few additions like Burke-Gilman Brewing, Trailbend Taproom and Barking Dog Alehouse.

Many of us agree that this forum could use an easily searchable/bump-able "I'm visiting Seattle, where should I go?" thread. Here, I'll attempt to cull the consensus "must-hits," along with other highly recommended Seattle breweries, brewpubs, bottle shops & beer bars that appear in this type of BA thread. Locations that offer crowler fills are included. Recommendations & suggestions are encouraged.

Note: Unlike some other states, Washington has incredibly lenient growler laws. There are some exceptions, but if it's a clean sealable container you can probably have it filled with beer.

I have a Layover at SeaTac Airport. Where can I get a Beer?
Unlike Portland, the beer options at SeaTac are slim. You should be able to find standard offerings from Bale Breaker, Black Raven, Airways and Fremont alongside Pyramid, Red Hook, Mac and Jacks and the regular airport fare like Sam Adams and Bud Light. There is nowhere that sells bottles or cans to go in the airport and no one offers growler fills. Seriously, PDX is way better when it comes to beer. These are your best options for a pint before your flight.

Africa Lounge – Main Terminal (A gates)
Alaska Lodge – Main Terminal (D gates)
    Anthony’s – Main Terminal
Dungeness Bay Seafood House – South Satellite (S Gates)
Bigfoot Food and Spirits – North Satellite (N Gates)
Seattle Taproom – Main Terminal (A gates)
Seattle Seahawks 12 Club – North Satellite (N Gates)
    Floret - Main Terminal

There really isn't much around the airport. These are your best bets if you want to get out.
13 Coins - Across the street from the airport
Sharps Roasthouse - Two blocks from the airport

Following up and finishing up from my posts in the recently closed thread.

If I only want to do one of the following, which should I choose: Cloudburst or Old Stove or Pikes?

For a reference, I love pilsners (German pilnsers being my favorite), Belgian Saisons, and West Coast IPA's and have no need to drink NE IPA's, Milkshake IPA's, or wheat bears like hefeweizen/_____weisse/wits/American wheats/White IPA/etc).

    Cloudburst.

Happy Little Clouds pilsner always seems to be on tap and while they can get slightly hazy at times, their IPAs lean more towards the West Coast style.

Plus their beer is the best of the three.

I would go with Old Stove for the view and less hoppy Pilsner.

I'm not sure I would agree that their IPAs lean more towards the West Coast style. I think they've gone 'round the East Coast bend and are all starting to taste eerily similar. I've begun to avoid Cloudburst IPAs at this point.

My vote would be for Old Stove.

If you get a chance to visit Bothell (20 miles NE of Seattle), there is a great beer community there. Breweries include: Foggy Noggin Brewing, Beardslee Public House, McMemamin's Anderson School, Watts Brewing and Decibel Brewing. Great beer bars/pubs include:The Hop & Hound, The Bine, Stack 571 and The Cottage. You can always get a great pizza and local beers at Zeek's Pizza.

    Airport update:
Of the things between security and the end of the a gates:

Seattle taproom has by far the best tap list with 10+ local taps although they are all pretty standard.

Africa taproom a only serves Mac and Jack's and today only had the Amber and one other on.

Mountain room bar (@a12) oddly is cash only and has bottles behind the counter that they don't actully have and have no intention of keeping up to date. I was told they probably keep them up for fun like the posters of beer they also do not have.

Both Africa and mountain room will offer you a half prices shot with your beer. At mountain that was $3 and I do t really want to know what they serve for $3 with my $8 fat tire.

So, $3 + $8 = $11. Still cheaper than a pint at Mariners Stadium. Shoulda went for it.

I was flying somewhere with pretty good whiskey so I decided I might as well skip and just treat myself to one once I got there.

Two Beers is normally way earlier than everyone else. This year's seems even earlier than normal for them.

It would sure be awesome if the "Made in Washington" store at SeaTac sold cans/bottles of local beers like they do wine. It works at PDX. [shrug]

    Thanks for the Reubens tip
Also works at ANC (anchorage airport). I’m sure others as well. You can buy 22s of anchorage brewing bottles and other local beers after security.

It would also be nice if they had the "street pricing" rule that PDX does.
