Absolutely amazing, but the Lou Pepe was even better. ..

A conversation over the weekend about English Mild got me thinking about this one . . .

Beautiful red gold color with scant off white cap and lacing.

Aroma of dark toffee with some floral highlights.

Taste is exceptionally smooth rich dark malt with just a hint of hop bitterness. The malt is definitely roast malt without roasty bitterness. There is a sense of sweetness, due to the rich malt I suppose, but it finishes dry with just enough hops to put a period at the end of the sentence.

I liked the La Trappe better, but this is pretty nice as well. If the La Trappe is as good from the bottle as it is on tap, I might start buying it regulary.

Taking a break from the rat race, and spending a few days up at the camp.

So here's yet another picture of me drinking Adirondack beer in the Adirondack mountains.

Had beers with my girl this weekend, she had the dark one and I was in the mood for the IPA, not bad Otter Creek!!!!

    My glass:

Yummy, yummy weekend!!! The Otter Creek Free Flow IPA is like a lot of IPA's, piney, grapefruity, but cloudy like it was unfiltered. It has some citrusy stuff and great all around flavor. Great for a beer at just 6% ABV. Cherry cordial is lovely cherry, thick and velvety cherry stout.

More moving-related chores done this morning.
Moving van arrives tomorrow! I am so tired of sleeping on an air mattress.
Drinking La Cumbre's take on a NEIPA. Very nice.

I didn't get around to drinking this yesterday due to a couple circumstances. I had it on tap last week, but enjoying it more out da can.

Good afternoon, BAs, from Richmond, VA! Here until Wednesday, so will be hitting the predictable places. Although starting somewhere I’ve never been. Strangeways Brewing, which is close to The Veil and The Answer (my next stop, with @vabeerguy ).

Trying a flight of some weird things I see on their draft list.
    - Red Sangria (Berliner)
    - There is a Light That Never Gose Out (ha)
    - Everything Changes (DDH IPA)
    - Thistle Killya Scotch Quad

I have had my share of brew by them although not nearly as much as from other Richmond breweries. All I can say is that they come by the name honestly. If you are so inclined try their brown ale and Belgian wit. Those are my favorites probably because they are mainstream brews.

I look forward to seeing you. I will probably use Lyft. If history is any indication, my guess I will not be in any condition to drive.

Did my 5+ mile run and now it's time for a refreshment.

This 4.9% ABV Pilsner w/Huell Melon and Hallertau Blanc comes from Monkish and Sante Adairius Rustic Ales.

Pretty creamy mouthfeel, as Monkish is wont to do. Fruity hop aromas as expected, which carry through to the taste, but it finishes dry and crisp. I know some people hate new school Pilsners, but I absolutely love them. This one is the perfect post-run reward. Cheers!

A little cooler today, 91 degrees in the shade...beer break with a Jai Alai:

Still wading through a mountain of mail, bringing the wife’s travel loot in from the RV, and taking boxes of stuff across the street to the new storage facility that recently opened.
Mrs. Z sure can keep me busy!
