I'm planning to taste all four of Stone's Bastard ales in one session (with some friends of course). I was thinking about starting off with Oaked AB and finish off with DB. I wasn't sure which one to have second and then third. I've never had Lucky Bastard before, so I wasn't sure how its hoppiness compared to AB. I generally like to start with the least hop assertive beer first and then move towards the more assertive hoppy beers last. Any help would be welocme!
You don’t need to finish one off before moving to the next one – just take small sips and jump around.
I would do AB -> Oaked -> Double -> Lucky to try all of the base beers first before the blend and try to pick out the different characteristics they impart to the final product.
He could always flip it, to see the final and then work backwards? Play Devils advocate. See if he can pick them out that way. Cheers!
