    Good morning advocates.

I am drinking la Trappe and one could tell it’s a bit of a heavy beer for noon...

A delicious Wee Heavy - Thirsty Dog Brewing Company, Akron, OH - “Wulver”:

So glad I snagged a 4pk in Charleston a couple of weeks ago. Smooth malty sweetness tempered by the bourbon barrel aging. Lite peat, sugary raisins with a lite Barrel dryness in the finish. The 11% ABV is revealed only by the slight warming flush on my face as liquid is consumed. Just my cup of breakfast beverage!

More errands to run today, but hope to visit my local pub today. Cheers from St. Pete!

Just started my shift at the bar. And there's a few new beers on tap to try so it's like a pre-christmas in here

First up we have Space Tiger from Amundsen in Norway. A double dry hopped IPA at 8.5% ABV. Refreshing and tasty but was hoping for some more tropical notes. It's good nonetheless. The next two is gonna be stouts so I appreciate the somewhat mellow start.

That IPA went down really easy. Next beer is a milk stout from an, to me, unknown brewery; Left Handed Giant Brew Co. out of England. Deeper Water Salted Caramel Edition. You kinda get the saltyness and a bit of sweet caramel so it lives up to it's it's names. Though it's really warm outside it is still pretty drinkable. I'm usually not a fan of stouts on warm days but this was all good.

Needed something lighter before going for the heavy stout. I opted for Cloudwaters Small Chinook Pale at 2.9% ABV. Delicious and very sessionable!

Right NOW, as opposed to later in the day or last night/yesterday (I'm jagging my newest BA pal, @spicoli00 so if you don't get it, pay me no never mind, as usual), I'm drinking my third (!) CANsecutive (!) Hefeweizen (!):

Why is this notable? First, some CANification: a) the CANsecutive label stretches back into yesterday/last night & b) this was the only one in a CAN. It is notable because I generally eschew beers in the Hefeweizen style. I prefer them to be clove ester-forward, but since that CAN only be achieved by fermenting the beer at Lager temperatures, most CANmercial brewers eschew this in favor of quicker Ale temps. 8=( Hey, it has been the worst CANbination of hot, hazy & humid these past couple of days & those Hefeweizens really hit the spot! Next up, a return to hoppy Ales. I give up.

    Regular lunch regular beer . . .

Attractive clear gold color with creamy white cap and lacing.

Pleasant grain scent with some light melon notes.

Flavor is straight forward AAL in it's approach. I don't know what makes up the grain recipe in this brew but it really reminds me of PBR in taste, feel and finish. Flavor leans toward the fuller bodied style and the beer is better for that, I also notice some richer malty elements as the beer warms up a bit.

Steam Flagship IPA from Steamworks Brewery in Vancouver.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this in a Dutch beer web-shop largely owned by Heineken.

Brings back nice memories from my stays in Vancouver. The food at their tap-room was also nice, as far as I remember. My latest visit was October 2016.

Had enough wonderful IPA’s (and others) during my two month’s stay to experience a fatigued palate at the end. Something that’s rather unknown in the world of classic European beers, as far as I know.

    Cheers!
