Other Half (August 2018)

With most of it going to DC, I figure they had fewer than 50 cases for sale.

 

Ah ok I thought that cause it dropped here that they had two separate batches or something.

The Mmm... Fruit Raspberry Blackberry is awesome, easily the best of the series.

 

damn this last batch of hop showers is incredible. sad i just finished my last can. theres just so much good beer in the city now.

 

One doesn't work and the other one barely does. It really ruined my beer drinking experience. It's almost like they're asking for a 1 star review on Yelp.

 

What’s the order of selling out for this weekend’s release?
Dual hop > Mylar > broccoli > small Nelson?

 

I'd guess dual hop lower based on prior results. Also the small Citra was popular, no? Maybe same for Nelson.
Then again weather looks mediocre which could affect results.
Why even bother guessing.

How early do people start lining up on Saturdays? After following this thread for a couple of weeks, it doesn't seem like you necessarily need to be there at 3AM to grab a few four packs of each beer?

 

Long gone are the days where people have to camp overnight for Other Half. If I recall the last overnight line was for the LAX 2 JFK release with Monkish?

You can easily stroll up at noon nowadays and get whatever you want.

If your life depends on acquiring all beers, get there at 9. Now again, this is only if failure is not an option, they have your family, they have a radio operated detonator implanted in your brain...get there at 9.
Otherwise stroll up 10-12 real chill like, and probably get everything.

 

Even more apropos if it were a wet-hopped beer, which by the way, OH ever done one? Any NYC brewery?

I know I'm a recent convert from having mostly Equilibrium in my fridge to mostly Other Half, but this batch of DDH DMDD is easily the best one I've had that has a bunch of clouds on the can art.

 

Definitely chuckled @ the @utah. In continuing to assume that was directed towards me - thanks for your advice. I'm hoping none of those life threatening conditions emerge for me sometime between now and tomorrow morning, so 10-12 it is.

 

I have to say this is the weakest taplist at OH that I've seen in a while, there is a bunch of stuff I'm meh on, two beers I dislike and a handful I really like. Usually its really hard to pick cause there is too much good stuff.

 

Show up at 11am,they start selling at 10am, that gives the line traders time to buy their beer. After they clear out it's in and out.
