And Tired Hands is pretty obviously changing their allotment/production strategy to allow more people to get less of their beer, right? They probably realized that they can get more people in the door to visit the GS and have a beer on draft with hyped beers lasting a full two days rather than selling cases upon cases to the same 200 people (that then act as distributors for them).

Yeah and is that the first time a non-lager or pilsner lasted to the following week's release?

I definitely agree with the part about so much more good beer being available, but I'm finding the really good, fresh beer is still in the $15-$20/4 pack range. I know that isn't $26 but even for Tired Hands that is not the norm.

But will they ever stop blatant line jumpers like the two guys who decided to show up at 3 and walk straight to the front of the line?

Agreed with all of the above. I’m thinking more and more about not going back for a large variety of reasons, but great beer that doesn’t have a line is easier and wasier to find. I suspect this may mean TH eventually starts a more limited set of releases that will become the thing traders want.

I both hate those guys and am proud of those guys.

....for determining that they deserve to completet ignore that a bunch of others got there first and that Tired Hands uses a chair system for the line? Makes sense.

Should we expect that Tired Hands be able to police every instance of that sort of thing? I'm not sure. At the very least I hope people around them called them out and/or alerted the brewery?

I assume the "people around them" were inanimate objects. Do I like that they cut in line? No. Do I like that the whole chair line thing is disintegrating? Yes. I'm thinking by end of year chairs will be a thing of the past.

I let them know. I suspect there will be no action.

I don’t have a problem with the chair line dying and Tired Hands adopting a Tree House approach. That’s ultimately a better strategy, but you still have to have some consistency. Their inability to do that makes me not want to go back.

I mean, someone had to have witnessed it if we're talking about it here, right?

I guess it could have been some dude flexing on Insta or Facebook that others saw (which is sadly likely), but I assumed someone was there seeing it go down.

I was there and the 7 or so people behind me saw it too and said nothing. I assume they didn’t want a confrontation of any kind.

A Tree House approach would be interesting, just continual canning days? They are starting to develop their "core" beers that they release somewhat on the regular and then throw in something crazy every now and then.

Tree House is such a different operation in so many different aspects (locale, demand, production capacity, general ethos) that I'm not sure it's fair to suggest that Tired Hands simply adopt their model.

True but I think it would be great to even start to adopt different language. Like hey everyone swing by for a pint and some cans haha, be a little more nonchalant about it.

This almost sounds like an intentional misinterpretation. When I said adopting a Tree House model, I mean that Tired Hands seems to be adopting the idea of having the beer last for a longer time so people don’t have to deal with the initial lineup buying all the product (literally what was said a few posts above).

Are those tin tacker signs still available on site?

God it can't happen soon enough. The chair system is what makes the Tired Hands lines such a gong show. Tons of "chair mules" dropping off chairs early for other people, line cutting, etc. All of this would be gone if the damn chairs were simply ignored by people who are physically there. What possible benefit is there to the brewery now with the chairs? I get that in the beginning when lines weren't as long, having a few people drop chairs so they can go inside the Ferm and spend money instead of just taking up space outsdie made sense. But that is rarely what the chairs are now. By allowing them at noon, it's just people dropping placeholders, then going about their day and coming back later.

Also, the chairs encourage the mess at 5. For example, i usually can get over there at 3 or so, sometimes 530. Because if the backup of chair droppers, there is zero incentive for me to get there around 4-5 just to then be stuck in line behind inanimate objects , many of which wouldn't have a ccorresponding person there already at that time . The crowd would probably be more staggered without the monster backup at 5 if the chairs were ignored.

I can't remember , but did the brewery really encourage the chairs in the first place or did a couple of lazy linelife guys just start doing it and it became a thing

I am not specifically disagreeing with you here but: if Tired Hands is producing inconsistent products why are the 'selling like hotcakes' at outrageous pricing no less?

    Cheers!

I think it started by a couple of linelifers that initially went at noon dropped a chair and drank inside the ferm and worked using the WiFi and then it grew from there. I remember the first releases when it was just people and only a couple of chairs for people that got there early and wanted to sit. It then morphed into what it is today of people dumping chairs and leaving and going home or work until about 5.
