Good morning BA, have a great Saturday.

Awesome as usual this year. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate bready, light caramel malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Large sized pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, medium-plus body, and moderately crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malt and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin dryness; light lingering hop astringency, but not overwhelming. Minimal warming 10%. This is always super aggressive, yet smooth. Supposed to be their take on a west coast style DIPA, which means way less malt vs hopslam. Amarillo and Pacific Jade hops. Will get some more singles. Love hopslam a lot more, but always enjoy this as well.

This is amazing! Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, fudge, marshmallow, nuttiness, vanilla, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, raisin, fig, cherry, berry, date, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, and pepper. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Light hop/roast/char bitterness and oak spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and very full bodied; with a very creamy, silky, rich, and velvety mouthfeel that is fantastic. Slight slickness, sticky hops, chalky, roast, oak tannins, and increasing dryness. No cloying/acrid flavors. Dangerously smooth, mildly increasing warmth of 17%, minimal booze. Absolutely stellar stuff. Quite a bit better than the base beer IMO. Super rich malts with balanced vanilla/oak presence; and not as intensely dark fruity. Much silkier body from the oak aging. I still have quite a few left. Made sure to stock up earlier this year.

    Happy Saturday Advocates

Going to be a busy morning - driving up to Cleveland area to look at a cool 50+ year old Norwegian mahogany sailboat...strangely, one I used to own and sold decades ago....then lunch with an old friend in Beachwood, then some Trader Joe's shopping...
In the meantime, some breakfast libations

Thanks @spelingchampeon for another can of this. Fantastic yet again. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, grapefruit, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with wheat, biscuit dough, light honey/caramel malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Mild pine, zesty, herbal, grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; creamy/silky/grainy wheat/oat mouthfeel, with light sticky hops. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness. Very soft feel, refreshing smooth for 7%. Citra, Simcoe, El Dorado, and Amarillo hops. Super juicy citrus/tropical/fruity hop complexity; awesome bready malt backbone, not overly sweet/heavy for the ABV. A touch more bitter/drying than I recall at review, but still spot on NEIPA.

This year's batch is tasting insane as expected. Aromas and flavors of huge milk chocolate, vanilla, cream, marshmallow, fudge, cocoa, caramel, toffee, coconut, toasted oak, whiskey, and light molasses/dark fruits. Mild roast bitterness and whiskey/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and full body; with an insanely creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel. Minimal chalky roast, oak tannins, or dryness. No cloying sweetness. Zero barrel booziness and not much warming alcohol. The balance between the barrel, vanilla, and roasty malt flavors is perfect. Not quite matching up to the 2015 batch I reviewed, but still stellar and a truly top tier stout. Hoping to get more later this year again. This is my top reviewed beer ever, along with BA Bomb.

    Lively and refreshing . . .

Deep copper gold color with white cap and lacing.

Distinctly citrus hop aroma that's fresh and bright.

Hop forward flavor on entry with enough rich malt to serve as support. I get a melange of citrus notes (brewer mentions candied orange peel and tangerine) that are so well blended together no single one stands out but the mix is quite pleasant. I do get a hint of orange in the finish but that may be the power of suggestion working on me.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

This is a very good IPA that certainly leans toward the citrus side of things and it's so well made I neither scent nor taste any of the listed 7.5% alcohol.

I am going to drink this pre-workout stout, then run the stairs at Lambeau Field. After that, I plan to run the 40-yard dash in the Titletown District. I am hoping to get my 40-yard dash time to under 30 seconds.

1,2,3 . . . oh dear. When is tomorrow? Hi you all and cheers! Years ago my favortie chinese restaurant in Va Beach was owned by a gal who said "Me from Rochester." In it they made Kang not Kung pao chicken and today I am going to try to make it with sunflower seeds instead of peanuts. Gotta groove so here we go. I like this beer a lot. Were these the same hops that were used in the collaboration with riegele? How about the malts. Why is the steffi malt different? Is it floor malted?
