    I honestly was not sure if this was a different beer. After looking at a picture of the last time I had this beer, I realized it is the same beer, just with “Oak aged” changed to “barrel aged” and the prominence of “bourbon barrel.”

    Double Nickel Vienna Lager. 5.3% ABV

    Its unpastuerized. A tad malty for the style but still balanced. Its year round. Its brewed 15 miles away from me in Pennsauken, NJ. this one may be the subject of my next article. NJ to me, i love NJ. but everything in NJ pisses me off. Maybe from growing up in the hood. The "tough guy" attitude we have here is shitty. But it becomes apart of it. I love/hate you New Jersey. Its an unexplainable feeling toward my home. Lyrics to the song explain it better than i can.

    Inspired by @CanConPhilly, I am going to revisit this offering from Veil. I agree that something is missing. What attracted me to Veil initially was the flavor profile in all their IPAs -- unique and distinctly Veil. It was like Tree House used to be in the early days. Oh, well, it's still solid. Just not mind-blowing. Cheers.

    I wonder if the drop-off is due to their larger batches? When I first started drinking Veil, they were canning 50-75 case batches. I remember they used to announce the number of cases. Nowadays...not sure the exact number, but I imagine it’s many multiples of that. If Tired Hands is doing 300 case-batches, I would think Veil is comparable.

    It has to be. People can say whatever they want about Tree House, but I assure you that the beers are different than when they were brewing in Monson. I still love their beers, and I think they've come a long way since the Charlton location opened. I just don't think they have that same zing.

    If you come across anything from Mikkeller San Diego, get it. I’ve tried more than 40 of their beers and am yet to be disappointed...
