is it still true that the hand dryers are a monkish collab? or was that just a rumor?

Looks like a collab with "Xlerator". Never heard of that brewery, must be new.

I’m tempted to take the trip to check these out but I think I’ll just wait until they install the double dry hand version.

I don't know why people still think this is happening. I'll believe it when I see it.

Lately something has been lasting through the weekend and they've been doing awesome weekday drops that last most the week.

We had a meetup before arranged by @jrnyc , perhaps it's time for another!

OH is cranking out beers faster then I am able to keep up at this point. I can't NOT pick up Hop Showers and then the dual hop this weekend, right?

The mods are probably going to dock beer karma points off my profile (the total hasn't been right since they had that IT issue anyway), but fugg it. DC* as a beer town doesn't deserve OH beers. They're happy drinking shit from Three Stars and DC Brau and calling it quality.

*Note: I lived in DC from 2014-2016. Lax distro laws aside, I could never understand how/why people were so proud of the beer scene in that town. Also, Right Proper is exempt from the above statement.

I'm glad to see your beer FOMO also extends to hand dryers.

If you guys look in the comments on Andrew's hand dryer post he uses #otherhalfloveslocals in case there was any doubt.

Three weeks later and the Galaxy/Moutere is tasting amazing. Much brighter as it mellowed, where it was a bit green/muddled at first crack. Open ‘em if you got ‘em.

DC *does* seem like a beer wasteland, other than Aslin being not too far away I suppose.

I have to say, as a HYPER local that lives within close walking distance to the current OH taproom, I'm a little put off by the way these guys are diluting themselves and their presence in the local beer scene with two new locations that aren't in this region (tbh I'd be fine with a Fort Point / Canton situation).

They helped kickstart the current beer renaissance here, are always collaborating with other local breweries, and the BK industrial vibe / hip hop etc always seemed to be a huge part of their brand. Now they'll be a huge presence in much of the Mid-Atlantic, almost along the lines of how Modern Times has a presence throughout much of Southern CA and now in Oregon too (other than the fact that MT is distributed fairly widely, this seems to be the closest business model to where OH is headed? Mikkeller seems to have a much larger reach but maybe should be in the conversation too)

I guess this is a long way of saying that them being a local brewery was important to me as a customer, and now they'll be a lot less "local" even if they're still making some of the beer in BK. Even though they're still independent it feels a lot like they're selling out, at least from an NYC perspective. Idk, maybe no one else really cares?
