Same here. It seemed like many of the previous years I didn't really enjoy some of the additions like apricot jam or similar.

My take as well. This was the first time I'd seen it on tap, and I remember thinking "oh well, I should at least give it a try." (as I've tried every other previous version) I really wasn't expecting a whole lot, and so I was completely surprised and blown away when I took my first sip. I don't know how long it will be around, but it's definitely on my list of "buy it whenever you see it" beers.

Haven't had the BB cubed in a couple of years, but yeah... Definitely one of the better barrel aged beers Deschutes has put out.

This is perhaps the best news I've received in weeks. I've missed that beer so much

I would call before heading over there to try some. I don't know how current or accurate the online tap list is, but it doesn't currently show Blue Heron as one of the offerings.

Funny, I was just in a place a few days ago that was selling bottles of Blue Heron (from, like, 2009 or something) and I thought, well that would taste terrible, but I sure did like that beer back in the day. I might have to trek down to Bridgeport!

If keeping to old favorites from the NW, a few have been named here already:

    Deschutes - Jubleale
    Ninkasi - Sleighr
    Rogue - Dead Guy

that is my trifecta of classic Oregon beers (or at least classic to me!) that I will continue to come back when needing something familiar

I wish Rogue still made their Juniper Pale Ale. I legitimately liked that beer.

Ah yeah, that used to be great stuff, so malty and flavorful. Classic winter warmer, back in the day.

That used to be Yellow Snow in 2004? Learn something new everyday.

I used to buy six packs of Juniper Pale (green artwork on the bottles) in 2009 or so. Really enjoyed that one.

Speaking of Old School Winter Warmers, I'll remind y'all of Maritime Pacific Jolly Roger.

    Okay, I'll bite:
    -SNPA
    -Deschutes Black Butte
    -Gigantic IPA
-Bridgeport Blue Heron (I guess I need to keep my eyes out for tapped versions still)
-Deschutes Bachelor ESB (one of my favorite Deschutes beer and a year-round tasty ESB)
-Bear Republic Racer 5 (X is freaking delicious too but 5 helped start my IPA love)
    -Anchor Liberty Ale
    -Arrogant Bastard
    -MacTarnahan's [Portland] Amber

Also, I'm now more curious about Jubelale as I always thought that they changed both the label and recipe each year. Cheers!

Hard to forget Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Anchor Steam and Redhook Ballard Bitter, which were my gotos like 30 years ago. Old Rasputin takes me back, too. Pretty much all of the Merchant du Vin stuff.

I still have fond memories of a beer from when I first moved to Bham, Stock Ale from Orchard Street Brewing. Apparently the recipe is still alive in the local homebrewing community, but, as yet I've had zero luck talking any local brewery into brewing up a batch.

Ballard Bitter was my go-to beer back in the day. Red Hook should have never left Ballard. Fond memories of Supergoose and Ninkasi Tricerahops that introduced me to hopped up beers.

Agreed. Have been drinking OR since when I lived in Memphis roughly 20 years ago. Back in the day, I think the brewery only sold it in 6 ounce size glasses, with a limit of two glasses per customer in the tap room (because the alcohol was so high). Same with the stock ale.

Been a long time since 9% abv. was considered such a high level of alcohol, it was necessary to regulate customer's intake.
