    Good afternoon and morning, BA.

Sunny and blue skies here in Southern Sweden. Looking forward to BBQ’ing later today.

    Enjoy your days!

Oh what the Helles, it's brew time . . .

Clear light gold color with white cap.

Pleasant aroma of mild malt and floral hops.

Flavor on entry is a touch richer than the scent implies with a small but noticeable bit of sweetness. Relatively low 15 IBU is sufficient to balance the malt and add a bit of dry spiciness. It finishes clean and refreshing with a nice roundness.

Just dropped both kids off at first day of school. Beer time.

Daughter starts kindergarten. Other than working nights this last year, I've been home with her the last four years.

    La Cumbre "Full Nelson"

A big, ballsy hop bomb loaded with tropical and citrus fruit aromas, a huge hop bitterness riding atop a juicy feel and taste, and bringing along a mild boozy note.

This may be an interesting day for me to wrestle with, so I'm starting it off appropriately...

Ninkasi Triple, an abbey beer from France. Good quality beer, but a bit too sweet to my taste to have it again.
    Cheers!

Continuing with my Spanish beer adventure I picked up two new beers today to try out on my last night before flying home tomorrow. The first one I wasn't too sure about but I really craved some IPA. So I took the chance and was pleasantly surprised. It is sweet, fruity, citrusy, bitter. And refreshing! A perfect beer for warm afternoons. Cheers!

Jenlain Blonde. This beer is from the Jenlain in Northern France.

The brewery is specialized in Bière de garde (meaning a beer that was “kept” not a beer “to keep” and refers to a beer that was matured for some weeks after its fermentation).

This one is very nice. A bit like a Bière de garde from Brugge with some hints of pilsner in it. I like this very much.

    Santé !

Extra subtitles in Arabic are probably for historic reasons. The soldiers of the French foreign legion were singing this song when they marched out of Algeria in 1962. The coastal part of the country used to be (more or less) a province of France until that time.

Never thought I'd say this, but it's too quiet around here without kids.

Boss let me have today completely off instead of just coming in late since it's my daughter's first day of kindergarten. Who says having a woman for a boss is a bad thing? Beer me!

Maybe I'll be doing some of this shortly.
