    "Just Tapped!
    Maplewood (Chicago, IL)
    Big Pulpy
DDH Double IPA - Hops (Citra/Mosaic/El Dorado)

    Sizes and Prices:
    3oz - $3.5 6oz - $7 "

Damn dude. There's literally a BA stout on tap (albeit one that's 7% abv) that gives you double the pour for the same price (13 oz for $7.50).

...sure, but does the stout taste like Roger?

I paid $5 for a 5oz pour at the Libertyville Craft Beer Store on Tuesday. Really wanted to try it and I have to say it’s the best DIPA I’ve had from Maplewood.

Wow. My hopes that Maplewood would present a cost effective alternative to the Chicago NEIPA scene seems to have not only been dashed, but emphatically spiked in my face.

That’s hilarious. It was $10 a pint at beer cellar yesterday

Had Drink Dat Citra then Galaxy Bowl after. Everyone liked Drink Dat Citra much more. There was a weird musky pine flavor in Galaxy Bowl and an unpleasant finish. Would not buy GB again.

I have found the GB tastes different based on when you have it. I loved it as a first beer. The finish wasn’t as good when I had a sweeter Corridor beer before it the next night. Just my two cents

I always wait about a week after canning to have any Hop Butcher. I’ve found it mellows out. The sweet spot for me with them is 1-3 weeks.

My brother and I each cracked cans of Galaxy Bowl last night, and it was not good. Drain poured. I hear people saying it needs a week or two...if this ends up being good, it’ll be an all time comeback story.

GB is absolutely green right now; just had my first can tonight. I think a week will help and 2 weeks will make it top tier.

Slanted is great (Pollyanna); 7.5%, nice aroma but very smooth and flavorful going down. They have nailed the style pretty much every time I have tried one of their NEIPA offerings.

    Saw at the Beer Cellar..
Hailstorm Day Zero NE Double IPA...
This brew is a collaboration with Omega Yeast. Day Zero Dryhop was fermented at 95°F with Hornindal Kveik yeast. Dry hopped at the time the yeast was pitched and again on Day 2 of fermentation. Then packaged seven days from brewing. Hops use Loral and Galaxy.

I was curious about this (saw pics on IG), mostly because a collab with a company that does yeast (yeastery?) is a little different.

Very cool idea. It's a blend of different strains that ferment in half the amount of time (7 days), which means more turnaround, and costs just as much as other yeasts.

EDIT: And it tastes fucking awesome!

Grabbed Dank Meme at Binny’s for the first time. $9.99 and 4 days old is cool. Did they drop Really Dank Meme anywhere around here?
