Overnight complete, three days off begins. I’m on the couch with a beer and the dog.

    Guess I’m waking and baking...
Another weed flavored IPA, from Sweetwater no less. Absolutely dank and sticky. Smells like cannabis to the tee. Nice concept beer and executed well, flavors are there but not off putting.

    Cheers!

I tried this one for the first time the other day. I think I actually reviewed it. The nose to me was extremely dank although the flavor was mostly citrus. It is definitely an interesting beer, hope you enjoy it!

First time trying Hotbox Coffee Porter after seeing a lot of people on here liking it. It's been sitting on the shelf at Bevmo for over 12 months. 8/02/17. It's cold in there tho. I'm ot sure why I finally bought the old ones after passing on them while they were fresh. I wanted a coffee beer. This still has really good roasty black coffee flavor. Not much sweetness. Coffee finish takes away any hint of the 6.5% . Tastes like cold brew coffee. One of the best Porters I've had. Glad I tried it.

Visiting the Country from my armchair, Iowa Brewing New England Logger, which the brewer lists as an IPL. It appears hazy in the photo but actually poured clear.

Deep clear gold color with white cap and lacing.

Aromas of resin and citrus, sharp and with depth, around a mild malt core.

Taste is hop forward but not in a knock your socks off sort of way, rather crisply marching forward like freshly graduated cadets. As the hop flavors develop I get a fuller, rounder approach that touches on pine but rests on citrus, predominately grapefruit. Finish brings a zing of hop brightness that last into the aftertaste. Hops sing an octave higher and are clearly heard throughout yet the malt doesn't get drown out. Simple flavors well knit together.

    Medium-full texture with balancing carbonation.

This brew pours clear, not hazy, but is a Lager so dropping bright shouldn't be a surprise. It is brightly hoppy without veering off into bitterness and if the Brewer want's to call it a NEIPL I won't argue. It's a well thought out and highly crafted beer whatever they choose to name it.
