Looking to trade 1 bottle of MD batch 5 for a large mix of Revolution Deep Woods series when they come out. Styles and quantities I am looking for below. LMK if I am high.

    10/19 - VSOJ (2 cans)
    11/16 - Deth's Tar (4 cans), Cafe Deth (4 cans)
    12/07 - Vanilla Deth (2 cans)
    1/16 - Straight Jacket (4 cans)

Shipment would be the week of January 21st, 2019.

MD bottle will be stored in the fridge until shipment.

Just FYI, if you're looking for ALL of these, which it sounds like you are, this is more than $120+tax retail. Just from relative trade value, this is a pretty high asking - not to mention the cost of shipping would be far larger for someone sending nearly a case of cans (20 cans).

Still, this is a unique but somewhat respectable tactic, trading a coveted bottle for quantity of cans some of us can relatively easily find on shelves in the coming months. And it is going for about the $ amount you're listing here on secondary. Actually higher if you're counting the shipping you usually have to pay for.

    You might be high.

Code switch, VSOJ, and Vanill will not be distro. Also, The latter 2 are likely to be 28-32/4 pack at Rev rather than the 24 that deth's Tar and SJ are - based on VSOD pricing last year (and Vanilla has to be more expensive than Coffee). So that's $8-16 more. Finally, 1 4 pack of vanilla could be half an allotment.

Once you include taxes, the ask above is easily asking for $150ish in beer our the door. I don't think this is respectable at all. It's higher than secondary or relative trade value. My point was never about being respectable, though, but simply alerting OP that his ask was very large and explaining how large/why it was unlikely to get done.

I thought regular deth and SJ were <$20 based on older posts I saw,but maybe I am mistaken on that. Maybe I read that people wanted them to be <$20.And the others I thought would be in the $25 retail range. Regardless, post edited.

Interesting about VSOJ, as I have a retailer that was certain he was getting it, but may have been referring to kegs. I'll have to check with him. However, per the Revbrew site: Deth’s Tar, Cafe Deth, and Straight Jacket cans will see wide distribution following their releases, along with limited distribution of Code Switch and Vanilla Deth.

The comment I made above was already taking into consideration a potential but soft $150 value. I'm not sure what your obsession is with constantly dragging all of these trade threads into strictly dollar amount breakdowns, but so be it.

Maybe you're thinking this MD is valued the same as the 12 ounce bottle from last year, but the new 22 ounce for this year has active bids on it right now at over $150. That's before shipping.

So you're off, and the original ask was actually under.

Limited distro means within chicago burbs. That varied a lot last year for VSOD and the like.

I'm basing what I said off relative trade value that I have seen.

All moot as Op has modified.

To celebrate, we’ll be hosting a 2-day release party at the Kedzie Tap Room on November 17 & 18, where we'll be tapping additional Deth variants. Times for the party are as follows:

    Saturday November 18th: 12:00pm - 11:00pm (Variants Tap at 12:00pm)

Packaged Sales will take place separate from the party, in our shipping and receiving department (3350 N. Kedzie Ave).

    To-Go Cans:

    Deth's Tar 4-Pack: $25.00 + tax
    Café Deth 4-Pack: $30.00 + tax (Limit 4/person)
    Deth by Cherries 4-Pack: $35.00 + tax (Limit 1/person)

You literally stated it was higher than secondary. That's factually incorrect.

If you're going to use secondary dollar values, you need to actually look at secondary. There's a whole page of already sold 2018 MD's at and over $150.

While OP's ask was for ~$150 after shipping, secondary is currently at $165-185 after shipping.

@Bonedizzle you didn't need to modify if "value" is your concern, especially since this is your first post as such. Don't let this ridiculous nerdery get you down, this isn't a science like some people like to believe.

I don't watch secondary - it's not my thing. Friends have - they've reported seeing others close lower.

His initial ask was 150ish before shipping, not after. 5 4-packs at $25 each (which is not accurate since most would be higher) is $125 + tax. Factor in that several will be $4-8 more, and you're at $150ish before shipping. Shipping would be $26+ for 20 cans.

i could sell it for $150, but I dont want to sell it for $150. I want some rev cans of which I have only had a couple and liked them. I am trying to take into consideration all factors, which is secondary value (of which deth and SJ will not trade above $4$) plus ease of acquirement (probably 2 lines need to be stood in, VSOJ and Vanilla), plus the fact that I would like to acquire all listed as easily as possible for me, which is to do 1 trade rather than me obtaining all these through other means, which I can do if needed, but I would rather make it easy on me.

Not sure how that computes...I can't go without seeing every second or third post of yours quoting secondary on every other thread on this site.

So then it would be damn near identical to secondary. A lot of talk for nothing, coming back to the same point made ten posts earlier.

If someone is inclined to pinch pennies so strongly and rely so intently on $4$ secondary values, they'd be well advised to stick to the $4$ forum, or else they shouldn't be trading for such high value beers to begin with.

You guys are also basing you valuations on MD secondary and rev retail. If u based rev on secondary also then it's not even close.

That was my initial point. I was basing on what the relative trade value of MD was vs. Retail cost of Rev, showing that rev was very high when not everything was shelf. Some of those won't trade like shelf beers. That was my point all along. Thank you.

Sure, as long as you're okay with a half growler. Just like last time Rev kegs came around with no fanfare in my area, barrel aged syrupy goodness hilariously flowing like water all over the place.

In the meantime, there's not even a slightly dramatic premium on Rev on any secondary site that has listed them in the past, and it's too insignificant to be on the black book. You're talking about a brewery that's been around for 8 years not having a single entry, c'mon cut it out...

If you don't want a brand new bottle of MD in exchange for some much easier to acquire cans, especially for Chicago area locals, that's your call and just as respectable a call as the OP's original post.

This. It drives me nuts when people make these comparisons. You can't compare your beer at secondary to someone else's desirable beer at cost.
