Where tf are they in huge demand? They're not.
    That's pretty juvenile and fragile.

You're not debating, you're stating what you would do, end of story. It's pointless.

Just because you state you want to drink Rev cans doesn't mean everyone that has access to them does. No one is trying to convince you to go through with this trade, but you're here to influence someone that has access to these cans to not do this, even though the dollar value is the same as secondary for the MD? If someone has the money and doesn't want to go thru secondary grey market sites, what's your real objection to them doing so? What are you so offended by? It's silly to go this far off the deep end trying to prevent this from happening when $4$ it already is. You're not going to find MD on shelves, ever, like many consumers in multiple states will find many of these Rev cans this Fall and Winter.

@Sabtos you are the only one that has responded to this thread that isn't OP that thinks Rev cans are easy to come by.

Last year only Deth's Tar saw wide distro. This year Deth's tar, SJ, and Cafe Deth will see "wide Distro." The Quotations are because it's not clear how much Cafe Deth and SJ will be going to each of these locations - but some will make it. Everything else is either No Distro or Limited.

Limited Distro last year meant Chicago only for a couple, and Bloomington/Normal and Urbana/Champaigne received Cafe Deth. I don't think they saw anything other than those 3. This year is likely to be something similar, with them perhaps getting a small amount of another variant. Cafe did not last long there. That Means Vanilla - which is hyped - will likely only see limited chicago distro. Places that get it likely won't sell it unlimitedly either, as VSOD and such weren't "unlimited" last year either.

Rev cans were not the easiest thing to trade for last year. I tried on several occasions to obtain a few at $4$ and it wasn't working well. I did manage to get a few cans from a generous BA on here. Otherwise, only Deth's Tar and SJ were trading $4$.

This will be my last response.

Not disputing any of that. There weren't a lot of threads FT Deep Wood Series, but there were very few ISO threads as well.

People have been drinking many of these brands for years without much of a hassle. Whatever the attempt is to suddenly artificially inflate these beers' value is beyond me. I will give you the more limited(?) Vanilla and VSOJ cans should retain more value, but that does not necessarily hold true to someone that doesn't intend on drinking them.

This thread just comes off as a desperate attempt to inflate value and prevent someone from acquiring a hard to obtain bottle for much less difficult to acquire cans.

This is an obvious request for a local Chicago person, who would indeed have "easy" access to 12 of the 16 cans this year probably, and 100% easy access to 8 of the cans. Only 4 cans of my request are admittedly going to be "hard" to obtain.

Deaths tar and sj are pretty easy to get for cost. But variants are getting a lot more difficult to obtain in Chicagoland. Long lines on release day and limited distro. The variants are delicious and people are starting to hoard them like goose island variants. Last year's Rev ba lineup crushed goose islands head to head.

I don't think this thread is trying to inflate the value of Rev Deep Woods cans (I have little to zero skin in this so am trying to be objective.) Last year's Deep Woods series was incredible and I was lucky enough to get cans of all the ones I wanted, but if you didn't go to the release(s) it was somewhat difficult to get the sought after varieties. I would say aside from the regular Deth, you could put them up against the BCS variants no problem, aside from Prop (which imo was amazing). That raised the Deep Woods profile significantly and this year they're releasing some more sought after varieties (Vanilla & VSOJ), continuing with bangers (Ryeway) , bringing back old loves (GDB), and some new ones (Boss and CodeSwitch). This has created a decent amount of hype around the brand as well as a realistic rivalry to the BCS lineup. Granted the volume of beer is different but as far as quality, the gap is certainly closing. That all said, this trade is 100% for a local Chicagoan who wants this batch of MD (which I think is so so so good) and doesn't want to go to the blackmarket and thinks it's fair. The flaming of each other doesn't help and has been one of the most interesting/specific trades I've seen on here which doesn't happen all that often.

This is all anecdotal. And my anecdote is: no probs here bro. I think Chicago locals really underestimate how easy it is to get draft of all this stuff, if hoarding is not your thing, relative to simply trying. I don't think people are ever going to aim to hoard anything by Revolution. The pastry and big BA beer market is way too overcrowded to make room for a relatively older brewery like this.

"somewhat difficult" to get for Chicago locals, and anyone traveling to Chicago (which, let's be honest, is a lot of people since Chicago is an international city), is a lot different than damn near impossible without a ticket and the will to travel to Decorah, Iowa.

Some might find that a high bar, but others might find that it's so easy to get BCBS it doesn't really matter which of either is incrementally better. No one is scratching and clawing for anything by Revolution, aside from maybe a few hardcore hyper local traders that think they might be able to catch gold for a couple cans.

Ultimately I'm looking forward to returning here if and when the influx of Deep Woods cans is greater than any demand it commands.

    Agreed on all.

We definitely got VSOD down here in Bloomington/Normal and I think DB VSOD. In my own opinion I doubt you get it done this early OP since no one knows what the limits are gonna be for Vanilla and VSOJ. But I may do it just for the hell of it later on if its still open.

You may have seen VSOD, but DB was 2 cans per person at the last release - wasn't it? No distro I believe on that.

Urbana/Champaign saw Deth, Cafe, VSOD, and SJ from the previous release. Not sure VSOD and SJ saw distro much farther than us and BN.

Honestly, people aren't trying to artificially inflate these beers IMO. The Rev thread has detailed why the sudden rise in interest in these. I'll summarize:
    1. Major investment in the BA program - dedicated canning line, better quality barrels, etc.
    2. The switch from bombers to 12 oz cans. The format is better for individual consumption, significantly less oxygen in the beer, no more light, etc.
    3. All the while dropping cost per oz.
    4. Multiple (mostly well-run) releases with tons of awesome variants.
    5. Etc.
It's for these reasons that interest in BA Rev stuff has all the sudden jumped big time in it's footprint.

I traded Rev cans to several BAs. These were all me responding to ISOs on here. IIRC, at least one has been from OH actually.

@Jinx989 I look forward to popping that MD5 with you :sunglasses:

And since I can't edit my post (is this really an ISO:FT thread:rolling_eyes:?), I forgot to land my plane in that all of the changes I noted above reagarding production has created a vastly superior product in an incredibly short time.

I would be happy to trade for some upcoming deep wood series. Thatshit was fantastic last year! Never had MD before but I find it hard to believe it’s better than some of last years deep wood beers. ISO: Deep woods (PRE)!!!!!

Just looked it up - you're dead on. Not sure why I kept thinking 2 cans only. Maybe I am just remembering because this release so old so quick (same night I think?).

Anyway, much appreciation for the correction.
