As hot as it has been this summer, it still cools down at night.
I enjoy drinking my beers in the backyard with some citronella candles, a fire pit and a cooler, that way I don’t have to keep going back into the house. I can pee in the woods behind the garage and collect fire wood. I have a park bench surrounded by a lush shade garden, partially hidden behind the house and big ass azalea bushes for privacy. I try to drink local and consider all New England states local.
A little cool in the early spring-late fall, winter time-back inside.
I have pulled the occasional all-nighter out there which pisses the wife off so only occasionally.
Complain about NE weather all you want, I love it. You need a thick skin for the winters and there are worse places to be.

Getting slightly tipsy feeling from a single Pamola on top of Mount Katahdin. It was warm and malty, but it was most delicious thing I've ever had staring back at the Knife Edge. All the other dummies were drinking water.

Snowed in at the original Alchemist brew pub.

    Well there's
Sunset samplers at Vermont Brewers Fest with my sweetheart 22 years at that fest.
Climbing into the unlocked snowcat in winter on Mt Washington a winters climb, with a buddy to warm up and have our beer in furious winds. Those Harvard climbing club guys kept waving us off the summit! We showed them.
The snow cave at the Taconic notch where we sank our cans in the snow on the 4th of July after 4 days backpacking and enjoyed a cold one.
Finally watching satellites and the stars at the VT house on the grass with fresh HF and
discussing life with our now grown and gone sons.

    Cheers all

And I’ll be honest, I’ve never had a bad experience at Tree House, but I keep a watch on lines and have never waited more than 20 mins and don’t go if I know I will

Maybe I’ll go someday just to check it out. I’m not a ticker and can get Trillium very easily if I crave some top notch New England IPA...plus the litany of other good examples on the shelves.

Never really felt like driving an hour and a half just to pick up beer.

Yeah, I only go when I'm driving through that corridor, which I do often and have still only been a handful of times. But you really should check it out, if nothing else than to just experience the phenomenon that it is.

I've had their beers a number of times, and I've stood in line for Swish, Westvleteren 12 (and struck out), for Zwanze Day at Lord Hobo (and struck out), and routinely at breweries in and around Boston on Saturday afternoons among others...am I missing something else?

I absolutely love sitting on the back porch at Cape Ann Brewery in the Fall. The cool, crisp fall air mixes with the ocean breeze and their pumpkin stout matches the scene perfectly.

I went there with my wife on basically our first 'travel' date (spent the whole day in and around Gloucester) so that adds to the warm feelings i'm sure. As soon as the dogs are allowed back on the beaches at the end of September we'll be heading right there.

It'll probably still be 90 degrees then though.

Not so much a single experience but more a series of experiences for me.

About a year and a half ago, I was still new to CT. I was doing some CT beer research one day and saw that OEC had glowing reviews for its sour program and lambic-style beers. I headed out there for the first time soon after and really loved the beer, space, and atmosphere. I started chatting music with the guy behind the bar. Super friendly dude who enjoyed a lot of the same metalcore/sludge bands I do (see: Converge, Old Man Gloom, Neurosis, etc.). So I'd come in one or two times a month and whenever I'd see him, we'd talk about our favorite new albums or any shows that we were headed to or had just been to. I expected a bartender to be sociable and accommodating, but I felt like this guy was genuine about it and I appreciated it. It was cool to talk heavy music shop with someone since my fiancee gets visibly nervous when I crank out those types of jams.

Fast forward to last weekend while I was at the Experimentalis release. My fiancee asked me who the guy was after we chatted for a minute and I told her he was a bartender. She told me she thought he seemed a bit more important so we scanned the website when we got home to see who was right. Turns out the "bartender" I was shooting the shit with was a founding brewer there. Now I'm not one to get star-struck or get my rocks off on telling people about all the cool and important people I meet. I couldn't care less. I just thought in a beer world where a lot of people try to pump their own tires and project self-importance to anyone within striking distance, this guy was just a nice, down-to-earth dude who happens to make world-class beer. It was a nice breath of fresh air.

Bought a "Burley" bike-attachment for our son this summer and have been riding to a lot of local spots around Cape Ann

Our favorites so far have been rides out to some of the Trustees locations with an icy cooler in the Burley (tons of room for beer!)

When its this hot, our favorite spot is on the boat where we can let the guy get off into the low tide pools around Misery island while mom and I sip and sit and try to slow it all down for a minute...

I actually like the heat. I despise the cold...I even start to get a bit cold when it's low 60s at night. But I went for a run two days ago in the 100+ heat index no problem.

I don't prefer the cold, but I don't mind it. As long as it's 40ish and sunny it's cool with me. I LOATHE the snow though.

I'll still go for long walks in Somerville in the cold, no matter how cold. I once (ignorantly) walked about a mile and a half during white out conditions and two feet of snow to the gym. It was my day to lift, so I lifted.

But yeah, long story short, I'm one of "those". I could probably get by without A/C.

Having a well-deserved Sam Adams at Willards in Gorham NH after driving up from Boston to climb the Kings Ravine trail, before driving home.

That was 20 years ago, but I see there are many outdoorsmen here, including some from that era. Allow me to introduce you to HAE - a fine contemporary organization from that time that was into beer. They are still around, and even have a Facebook page. Whose link below will probably last about 10 minutes.
