Twenty to twenty-five bucks at the brewery for variants. Cake costs $15...a little more for all of the above at the bottle shops and bars around town (Charleston) but such good value compared to $30-35/bomber at Cycle and Angry Chair releases, and no standing in line...imo...

I’ve never had any Cycle or Angry Chair beers, but if I could get Cake/Cake Break variants for $20-$25 a bottle I’d have no reason to buy the others.

For frame of reference, Cake is $15.99 by me, Maple Bourbon Cake Break was $36, hence my reaction to the $20 price tag. Nice to know how much more I’m paying!!!

I thought so too! Usually anything Evil Twin with Bourbon or Maple on the name here has ran $28-35 so I was kind of shocked to see it at 20. Definitely a much better price point considering the others. Great beer.

Definitely. I will tell you this though, based on my past experiences, anything from Evil Twin with the words “Maple” and “Bourbon” in the title I am buying!

    Day's getting hotter so I'm staying cool . . .

Very light color like a pale ginger ale with good cap and lacing.

Aroma of clean grain with a hint of floral hops.

Taste is simple, clean and refreshing. I couldn't find the grain bill on the brewer's web site but it tastes like a well made AAL that had the rough edges smoothed off. Flavor is simple at first, sorta like a light beer, then builds to a malty grain presence just before the finish. IBU is listed at 12 and I can't say if that's correct but won't argue. I find some hops in the body and a bit more in the finish but not enough to put off anyone who doesn't like hoppy brews.

Medium texture leaning toward full with balancing carbonation.

What's striking about this American Lager is how a medium full body emerges without any of the industrial, almost chemical, elements one usually finds in American Pale Lagers. This one is clean as a whistle.

$6.99 a six pack seemed to be a very good price, so I bought a case.

Nynäshamns Ångbryggeri (Steambrewery) - Bedarö Bitter

This is one of the first Swedish beers I had when visiting my wife here when we were dating about 10 years ago. I recall absolutely loving this beer. This is the first time I have had it since, and it seems I happily still feel the same way.

Brewed with pale, crystal malt, and wheat, along with a delicate hand of Chinook and Cascade.

    An English Bitter.

Some gems I’ll be taking home after digging through my father-in-law’s dusty milk crate of records.

Love over Gold is one of my all time favorite albums so I’m really psyched about that one.
