At least it didn't increase again.

Saturday coat check was fine but the key was to wear your coat around for a bit and then to pick it up a little early. Avoided lines coming and going that way. But yeah maybe Friday was a different animal

I personally think it would be a disaster to leave the city for a festival like this. I think it’s safe to say the visiting breweries wouldn’t like it either. I know what you’re saying about space though

Friday the coat line was a free-for-all, essentially the equivalent of the Goose Island beer line. Some of the doors from the main hall opened right into the middle of the line so you had people funneling in from the sides.

Saturday was much better as they had the coat check broken into three roped-off lines.

You're not thinking this through to the desired end. ICBG allows some publicity to circulate that it is considering moving FoBAB away from Chicago.
Chicago's movers-and-shakers are, I suspect, going to react by suggesting what can they do so that this doesn't occur. This would hopefully lead to better terms to use a facility in Chicago, whether it is the UIC Forum, Navy Pier, or some special use facility which would be bestowed for the week to ICBG.
Some of you must have no memory. Back in the mid-1970s, the Chicago Bears gridiron team floated the threat to become the Arlington Heights Bears. Noticed what happened? They did not move. They got a sweetheart deal at Soldier Field.

2018 Fobab Brewer Roster section on the website says "The full list of participating breweries will be announced in September." Is this the first time the list of participating brewers are announced ahead of time? IIRC breweries and what beers they will be pouring are not made public until the first session on Friday night?

I’ve been told it’s hardly worth the price. Anyone confirm this?

Its worth it if you volunteer. Definitely recommend going that route. "Work" a session and attending another for free. Last year I got to pour Fremont brew 2000 and got to try majority of "whale" beers before my free session. So I knew exactly what to target. Just my viewpoint. Cheers.

Depends, what is your tolerance like? If you can drink $80 worth of 2-3oz pours ( and enjoy them without palate fatigue, sure.

I mean, if you're going alone and just trying to drink whales or whatever it's probably not worth it.

My friends and I have been going for years now though, we love just trying a bunch of stuff together and always have a blast.

It's definitely getting into the questionable category, for me, as far as price is concerned. With that being said, as long as you have realistic expectations and some good friends to go with, you'd have to work to have a bad time.

The $135 with Imbibe is easily worth it to me. Not even a doubt. I would still do it at $85 but it’s a different experience when you’ve sought and got what you wanted in that easy hour and can just relax and try stuff for the next 4

9/5 at 10am. I wonder how many people got Imbibe through the passport program.

First time going...do the imbibe tickets sell out fast or do they usually have more than enough for everyone with a membership? Given that this is pretty much the only thing you get for your membership I certainly hope they'd have enough.
