Haven't seen this beer in years, now in cans...

Belgian tripel-style ale aged in apple brandy barrels...

    Cheers...

I was just asking someone about that beer a couple weeks ago. Crazy.

Even crazier that it's in cans. Is it still big and boozy?

Thanks @GreenBayBA. Great witbier. Fantastic head retention and thick lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of lemon, orange peel, pear, red apple, coriander, cardamom, and light peppercorn/clove yeast; with moderate wheat, white bread dough malts; herbal/grassy hops, and yeast earthiness. Pretty muted aromas. Mild herbal/grassy bitterness, yeast spiciness, and wheat tang/tartness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Very creamy/silky wheat mouthfeel, with light sticky hops/spice. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/spicy dryness. Very flavorful/refreshing 5.2%, not watery. Perfectly balanced wit yeast, spices, and pale/wheat malts. Awesome example of the style. 3.96

Vivant NEIPA. Very nice stuff. Great head retention/lacing on the glass. Flavors of big lemon, mandarin orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, watermelon, blueberry, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit dough malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Similar/muted aromas, a bit more yeasty. Very mild pine, zesty, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; creamy/bready/grainy malts, and light sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness. Very smooth/soft feel, minimal warming 6.3%. Great Mosaic/El Dorado profile. Very juicy and lightly dank/earthy hop complexity; great wheat/oat/malt balance. Mild lingering sweetness. Not nearly as impressive as Secret Rituals was, but this is still spot on for the style attempt. 3.88

It's still big abv-wise, but the feel is pretty medium-weight, which is pretty on-point for a tripel, far as I know... I think it tastes pretty similar to how it did when I last had it (in a bottle), but I never found it "boozy" per se - though when I say boozy, I mean either tasting more of spirits than beer, or "too" alcoholic (as if there were such a thing - lol)... Worth the buy no matter what...

The first couple times I had that beer out of bottles, way back when it was first released, it was straight brandy singe the nose hairs style. I dug it.

Good to see it back. Is their Tripel back as well, the base? That was good. Real good.

#2, I told you guys I loved this, and I’m gonna go by a case of it tomorrow (if it’s still sitting there after I left the case on the shelf 3 weeks ago). I’m all about “Beer It Forward,” but I only have so much patience, especially with a beer this good.
