Ha! For the first time I bought some Evil Twin beer to try. This was reasonably priced ($10.00 per 4), and as far as I can tell, no goofy adjunct ingredients. A really decent pilsner. If I were blindfolded & didn't know what kind of beer I was drinking, I'd say this was a pilsner. That's a compliment.

Low Life Pilsner...I like the name... and it fits in with the new comic book I was reading this evening :[IMG]

Walk over time to chill for a few hours. Early shift tomorrow which is good because I get to come home and watch Ozark early. Anyway am I sure I don't want to live the high life for real tonight?

Sadistic local lovin' - doing a head to head shoot out for giggles ...

... the one on the left was canned on July 26th, the one on the right was canned on August 7th. The only difference is the August 7th has more pine resin on the nose and palate (was expected). Just an outstanding local beer at a very reasonable price = most important. Highly recommended if you haven't tried it before. (!!)

And 311 was the headliner last night but we were there to see The Offspring ... and they brought it!

Outstanding gose! Solid head retention/minimal lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tart/sour tart/sour lemon, lime, mandarin orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, green apple, white wine, citrus peel/rind, sea salt, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bready malts; lighter notes of peppercorn, pine, lacto/musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate lactic tartness; pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy bitterness; and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy wheat, lactic acid, sticky hops, and light salinity in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing tart/bitter/spicy/carbonated dryness, no pucker/astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, 4.8%. Not overly lactic or salty. They absolutely nailed this as expected. Probably Mosaic/Galaxy. Awesome balance of juicy/fairly dank/earthy hops and Brett/Lacto complexity; with a nice pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity for the ABV. Need to find this again. 4.15

Toccalmatto/Hair Of The Dog collab. Absolutely amazing BSDA! Fantastic thick lasting head retention and lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of huge caramel, brown sugar, toffee, raisin, plum, prune, cherry, fig, date, apricot, red apple, red grape, port, sherry, chocolate, cocoa, nuttiness, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of peppercorn, molasses, licorice, leather, tobacco, peat smoke, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/grassy/roast bitterness, and peppery yeast/oak spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy/silky/bready malt mouthfeel; light sticky hops, chalky roast, and oak tannins. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/spicy/tannic dryness, no cloying/astringency. Insanely smooth, mildly increasing warmth of 12%. I've never even had HotD Matt before, but this is pretty mind blowing stuff. Amazingly balanced dark/bready/light roasted malts, fruity yeast, and French oak barrel complexity. Wow!!!! 4.38
