College drop-off time and hoping to find some stouts while here. And no, barkeep, I don’t mean Guinness. Any help would be appreciated!

If you have time to drive about 5 or 10 minutes from downtown Northampton, Abandoned Building in Easthampton makes a tasty stout that they serve at the brewery or in 4-packs in stores. At the brewery you can often find a bottle or two of something barrel aged or a collab dark beer while you're at it.

I agree, definitely worth a stop.

In downtown Northampton you’ll find Provisions. It’s a beer, wine, and cheese shop and they’ll have the best selection in the immediate area. They’ll have everything you want. Just go in and ask the staff what you are looking for. You should be able to get all the best available stouts in MA distro.

Provisions is a great call, they not only have a great selection, they should be able to provide some good advice as well.

Wrap-up for now: Didn't find time for Abandoned Building - but it's on the list for October parent's weekend. Coopers Corner: I stumbled on this before seeing the recommendation, as we were staying right around the corner. I looked around....but hesitated to ask for advice, as the guy behind the counter was grumpy. Funny - the next night hubby went in (didn't know I had gone in) and said the same thing.

WINNER: Provisions. I walked in and immediately asked Andy to step up to the challenge: barrel aged or russian imperial stout that we are less likely to see in Oakland. He was so helpful and knowledgeable...it was great. The final outcome-Avery Tweak (we get Avery...but I've never seen Tweak on the shelves); Jack's Abby Vanilla Framinghammer; and Central Waters Peruvian Morning. Haven't tried any of them yet, but I'm super happy! Thanks everyone!
