Rain stopped, heat returned, Summer still in force . . .

Very light gold color with white cap.

Very mild grain with a light lemon presence.

To their credit the lemon is noticeable but not heavy in any sense. Grain flavor is mild, lemon is sweetish, not tart, yet not so much as to offend anyone in anyway.

    Mild texture with balancing carbonation.

This is a light, and I mean light, Summer ale with a mild but noticeable lemon component. Not sweet, not tart, sort of a Shandy style made with a great deal of restraint. Brewer instructs that it be served very cold and I agree.

Ricky Lightfoot Three Peaks Mountain Race Edition. A Yorkshire Farmhouse IPA from Northern Monk (Leeds) and Boundary (Belfast). Very good for a relatively light beer (3,5 % ABV).
    Cheers!

Ok, so even though I’ve been drinking quads and triples today, I haven’t abandoned my Lambic/Holy Gueuze Quest - today’s offering - “Gueuze Girardin 1882”:

In my new tulip from Brussels. Love my new glass, and ...this Gueuze, for me, is pretty whimpy compared to Cantillon and 3F, cheesy and (imo) off putting...5,95 Eros is a good price, but I would not buy again...

    Cheers les adventurous!

Got an early start in the day visiting the USS DeHaven Sailor Association's annual meeting held in Colorado Springs this year. My dad served on DD 727 in WWII, so thought I'd stop by and see some of the folks who served on the ship in later years. There are very few of the WWII vets left...I left them a copy of my dad's letter written in Tokyo Bay on the day of the Japanese surrender (notice the exclusive post mark date on the letter)...

Time for a heavy beer in memory of my old man and to all who have served (I'm a USAF retiree myself)...

Little mid-day milkshake. I haven't always had kind things to say about Decadent's work, but I will say this - they are about the only ones selling NE IPAs and Milkshake IPAs with consistency around here. Only one local brewery is producing NE IPAs more frequently than three times a year.

    Decadent's Pacific Punch.

    Cheers.

Decided since we were in the area, we hit up another brewery we heard about:

Having Larry’s Latest IPA after a sample of the 30th Anniversary beer. Citrus fruity (nearing a squeeze of juice) front that partners with the malt, then turn more piney and resinous as it hits and leaves the back of the palate. Not too bad.

    Teton Range IPA

A rock-solid American IPA. Kind of malt forward yet still delivering some sharp and citrusy hop elements along the way.

Great post, great tribute. My Grandfather (American side) fought the ****s as a flying medic, shot down over France, survived somehow. The last great and noble war worth fighting, IMHO. When it was clear who "the enemy" was. Cheers to you @beergoot ... and thanks.

Starting my shift at the bar in 10 minutes. Just enough time to enjoy a crisp and refreshing pilsner from Danish brewery Hancock. Look at the beautiful bubbles in this! So much better than the Tuborgs and Carlsbergs my country is known for. Cheers!
