    Tastes like pickle juice, as advertised. And while I love pickle juice, I’m quickly realizing I don’t really like drinking 12 ounces of it.

    Awesome!

    My father is a WW2 vet who served on a destroyer escort (USS Elden). They used to have annual get together but as you said, there aren't many around anymore...

    I am blessed to still have mine around and will be sharing a brew with him this weekend.

    Enjoy your time with your father.

    My dad passed away suddenly (bicycling, mowing yards, having a beer with a sandwich for lunch, all on the day he died!) 10 years ago at age 84. The neat thing was, I had a wild hair to do a video family history recording with him and got 2 1/4 hours of great stories from him (and my mom) about a week and a half prior to his departure. Consider recording some memories from your dad while your knocking back beers together...

    I have to agree with you. I like all kinds of adjunct ingredients (tangerine, grapefruit, coffee, vanilla, bourbon) in beer but no way pickle juice.

    My dad served 1941 through the. End of the war. Fought in North Africa, Italy, France and finally Germany.

    I grew up in NJ and went to college in PA. Each August my dad and brother would drive me to college and we would stop at a number of bars on the way. Some in NJ. Some two hours away in PA. If you ever watched the sitcom Cheers when Norm walks into the bar the folks there would yell NORM. Well, it was almost like that with my dad. Walk into the bar and they would all know him. I often wondered how all these folks know him in a bar two hours away.
