Yeah a previous release of Space Diamonds I had was similar. First can was awful but still "drinkable". After waiting a while it was much more palatable.

Yea, undrinkable may be a little harsh, but OH set the bar pretty high. I think I tried at least 1 from all of the (5) 4-packs I bought and they all tasted the same. It is my favorite of their beers, so just a little sad :slight_frown:. We’ll get em next time.

I only had one can so far and it's not their best batch, but it was still quite good. I'm saving the final three for science over the next two weeks.

Anyone else think True Green tastes quite similar to another beer in their repertoire...maybe Dream in Green?

Also, in other beer news.. I took that trip up to Bissell Brothers last month. Reciprocal and Nothing Gold are two absolutely incredible beers. Finishing my last can now and wondering when I can sneak up to Portland again.

How does it compare to the Hudson Valley Sour IPAs?

This is the perfect topic for us to funnel our complaints into. Our suggestions have a pretty high success rate, no?

There's no effin way they'd have the balls to deliver beer to my house by way of drone.

Hudson Valley is still unmatched, in my opinion. That said, I liked this one but thought it was a bit sweet.
Agreed. Wish they'd keep batches of Double Mosaic, All Citra, and Space Diamonds always in stock and use their Saturday releases solely for the new/experimental/not regularly brewed stuff. They're brewing so much more beer now (went from ~4 releases a week early this year to regularly hitting 6 a week, and 7-8 these past couple weeks), and brewing capacity is only going to increase once they upgrade and move all their current equipment to Rochester.

Agreed, Frame or Mind is pretty good (and excited to see OH experiment with the sour IPA style)...but it’s not yet to the level of HVB. That said, will definitely enjoy the four pack I picked up.

Double Simcoe Daydream is awesome. Not as heavy or creamy as I was expecting, but it's probably for the best that it isn't. I was skeptical as to how well Simcoe would work with the "daydream" treatment, and I have the same reservations regarding Nelson Daydream.

Not the best batch of Space Diamonds, but it's not exactly bad (certainly not undrinkable). Last time I had cans of it was the MDW batch, which was phenomenal.

Green Power remains good, but it seems like we're all chasing the b1 dragon with this one and we're never gonna re-live it.

Had the chance to try Frame of Mind, but passed on it. I'm excited to see how Other Half develops/improves upon their sour IPAs/Berliners, but neither are really doing it for me just yet.

I think most of their beers taste quite similar to another beer in their repertoire. I’ve often wondered if they just brew the same beer and package it under a different name for people always after the new, shiny toy.

Can’t wait for them to drop a new IPA called “Same Beer, Different Label.”

I think it's safe to say that the OH sour IPAs / berliners will never be as good as HVB as long as they are kettle sours

Haha. That is good. So I am not alone in this thinking.

What is the process HVB uses?

They blend barrel aged low pH beer into the IPA base.

Looks like OH is brewing an IPA with Bellwoods (according to their IG story).

Am I crazy in thinking double Simcoe daydream is up near the top of the lactose beers? (And I’m not a huge forever Simcoe / broccoli fan).
