Eldorado Falcon NEAPA.

 

Moving right along . . .






Deep copper gold color with off white color cap and lacing.

Aroma of rich malt overlain with piney, spicy, citrus hops.

Taste is richly malty with a strong hop presence. There's nothing mild mannered about this one as it pushes it's broad shoulders through the crowd in a way that you would notice even if you weren't looking. Malt is rich and deep with an equal hop presence marching alongside. Quite a mouthful, so to speak. A fairly complex flavor that's moreso in most all ways that I could describe a beer.

Full texture with balancing carbonation.

I don't see this as a food matching brew, or even one I would want in several doses. It is an interesting take on how much a brewer can cram into a beer when they put their mind to it. Some reviewers have mentioned a "booziness" that I don't notice but I take my whisky straight so what do I know. It won't knock a casual drinker over or grow hair on a bald man but this is one big boy take on beer.

We eat healthy except about every five hours or so

We’ll try to fix that (again) after vacation, which has gotten us almost halfway home. Took a suggestion to hit up a smaller town brewery because of their IPAs. They do both old and new school here, apparently:


JAFB IPA is clear and fairly balanced, little spicy to citrusy hops. I snuck a sip of the GF’s flight and will likely grab It’s Just Hops! next.

Got an oil change at a quick lube place in town after car started yelling at me at 9pm on some road in the middle of nowhere (as far as I could tell) last night. I know the great people of the area would’ve put up a lost soul from the east coast had the car died. Right?

It almost certainly needed one and I didn’t want to risk a good deal of travel far from home, but I bet we could’ve made it. Cheers!

booked tics last night for an October long weekend in San Francisco - will be like my 30th time there, but first time for my gf - now I have to break the news that we will be visiting Russian River, Anchor, Almanac, Lagunitas, etc....and NOT taking the silly ferry to Alcatraz....haha

 

JAFB / aka Wooster Brewing is a great local spot - been there several times and always enjoyed their beers and cool atmosphere....enjoy!

 

I’m off today, got a lot of chores done, relaxing with a Big Ditch Hayburner IPA...cheers!!

 

[salivating and saluting all day drinkers here - have to wait for 5 pm and a special tapping of some Firestone Walker goodies at my local taproom - enjoy your beverages in the meantime].

 

Enjoying the beers, for sure. For some odd reason the barkeep seems wary of us. Damn out-of-towners!

Jackie O's Dark Apparition. Wanted to try this one for some time. A wonderful beer for after dark with some reading.
Awesome when it warms up a little. First taste, but one of mu favorite imperial stouts already.
