What beer are you drinking now? #2148

The Oktoberfest is in full swing on monopoly shelves and this is a beer I've had at least once in the past. I remember it tasting like Samuel Adams Octoberfest and I think that still holds true, but it's drier (it's 5.7% abv yet I doubt it is higher gravity than SA, more likely it is in the low 13% range and well attenuated), with some caramel malt sweetness and flavor as well as a balancing hop bitterness. The aftertaste has a mild lingering bitterness to it. It's a tasty beer I think and alot better than alot of other Swedish craft lagers, even if it isn't very distinctive compared with some other caramel malt heavy amber lager beers.

 

Delicious but not on the level of TH or Trillium IMO.

Kicking off the night with the polar opposite of what @TheIPAHunter is having as there’s not a hop to be found in gruit. There’s a lot of flavor that seems like lemongrass meets juniper and faint black raspberry. I bet none of those are in this. I know nothing about herbs & botanicals

I like that one too, and it’s always fresh Freak not so much. That ones always older stock and I really don’t care for it.

I spilled 1/2 a glass of TH Sap making this faux chicken pot pie. Decided I deserved to step it up with Haze. That and the can matches my potatoes.

 

Starting my Friday with some 2015 Barrel Aged Bigfoot, cheers!

Don’t knock it if all you’ve had is the green bottles. I like the big can, I think it’s 25oz. I’m old and cheap and look at the price per oz. it’s a go to for me. Happy Friday.

 

Having another Pernicious IPA. This beer is the real deal.

 

Does the salt compliment the melon as if prosciutto wrapped? Seems like it’d be awesome if they could pull that mix together somehow.

Been drinking some most of the week. Son in law loves them.

Old and cheap. That would describe me. But you would need to add the word decrepit to get a better picture of me.

Youk’s CA brewery just did a distribution to MA. Greek God of Hops. A fun DIPA. Seems like a dank West Coast type to me.
