Heading up to Stowe Jazz Festival Main Stage at The Alchemist, Donny McCaslin Quartet on from 8-10. This band backed up David Bowie's last album, "Blackstar!"

 

Poppin’ a WESSIE a 6.6% ipa by Mast Landing Brewing out of Westbrook, Maine. This is pretty good beer! Looks like a NEIPA with the golden orange haze but has a good combo of hops and malt. Bottom of the can reads: 8/31/18 “DO YOU BELIEVE”

I haven't posted in WBAYDN threads in a while. Founders Backwoods Bastard, and I'm absolutely sure I have posted these two albums before...just with a different beer. Anyway, don't care as these are just amazing. As is Backwoods, all par for the coarse, even somewhat predictable for me

Today is a good day.

 

Barrier's IPA with Cryo Hops, the 5th "Local to Locals" release, referring to "a movement to band together local independent stores and local breweries" here on Long Island... Canned 8/28... Bright lemon highlights, floral aromas, dusty sugars, and a soft carbonation... Almost dessert-like - makes me think of lemon chiffon... Very nice...

Speaking of nice lemon chiffon...

 

Back at my in-laws’ home, this is an excellent IPA.

Loving this game right now, with proper glassware and shirt. Drinking another copper lager aged in the jim beam barrels.

 

Last one, this is outstanding, IMHO.

Alright, time to get back to our regularly scheduled programming. Beer #4 is Alvarado St. X Cellarmaker collab, When Doves Cryo. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, idk wtf cry hopping is, but boy does it make the beer juicy. Supposedly, the base beer here is hopped with Nelson (not sure if kettle or dry hopped), then the Galaxy and Mosaic cryo powder is added. The result is a fucking juice bomb. Honestly, both Alvarado and Cellarmaker make better hazy IPAs, but this one is good nonetheless. Cheers!

 

Well, tonight could get a little weird. My wife is out of town in Ocean City Md. this weekend. So..I told her I'm going to have a couple of hookers pay me a visit tonight. Seriously, who wants to be alone on a Saturday night? She said go for it. So prepping for that.. starting out with some Always Ready.

this is pretty damn good, might buy another bottle soon.
