    Hi All,

Wondering if anyone knows of any best routes for getting to/from without a car. Pretty certain I can grab an Uber up there from Waterbury, but getting back seems to be the tough part.

Any folks regular car pool up there/back or know of other ways of getting back.

    Cheers

You might be able to schedule a pickup through uber ahead of time, tough with service up there

I'd imagine that if you ask around you could grab a ride to at least near where you're headed. Beer people tend to be friendly and helpful, and I wouldn't be surprised if someone would volunteer to take you to your doorstep!

Post on here when you will be there. Lots of people travel to/from Waterbury to HF. You may be able to find someone that could give you a ride. People who are heading to HF during their VT beer trips tend to stay in either Waterbury, Burlington or Stowe.

I'm an Uber driver. The way that works is that Uber just automatically requests the ride at the time you've scheduled. A driver isn't paired to that ride before then. I think the odds that an actual Uber driver would be in the area and accept the ride to be somewhere between slim and none.

If would NOT use that as your method of transport. If you're using rideshare I'd just pay the driver to stay while you got beer and then take you back to Waterbury.

Is uber in Stowe / Waterbury still pretty nonexistent? Last I was up it was really just Burlington / airport that had any uber presence.

You'd have to think there aren't many rides available in the Northeast Kingdom.

Buy some female moose spray. Take a bath in it. Wait for male moose. Jump on and enjoy the ride to hill farmstead.

Was in Stowe over the winter and used Uber. Driver I had said he was the only driver. That was a weekend during ski season.

Hill Farmstead is very very out of the way and its at least an hour from Waterbury. Like people have said, you'd def need to make prior arrangements to insure transpiration. I would rent a car, but since you're asking, I'm sure there's a reason why you aren't doing that.

I feel like people who live in an Urban area are used to Uber being everywhere. There are areas of New England where its basically non existent.

We'll have a car up to Waterbury, but dont feel like drinking and driving back from HF. Rather not take the risk and also be able to enjoy our time there without worry about being over the limit. Hopefully we can get something arranged close to the time.

There is a two drink maximum per person at HF.

Is there actually? I've heard many conflicting reports. Some saying it's on, some it's off.

We were in Stowe this past weekend. Had no problem getting an Uber from Von Trapp bierhall into town and back from Doc Ponds Friday night. On Saturday, Uber said "no cars" for a while around 6:30ish, and then was a 20+ minute wait for a $22 ride of less than 3 miles, so we ended up calling a cab (********* taxi) from the Von Trapp Lodge where we were staying. Got an Uber back from Alchemist after the Jazz Fest ended around 9:30, waiting less than 5 minutes and ride was like $7 (and in a baller A8 at that!). So, Uber is definitely better than it was when we were there last year, but by no means something you can rely on.
