Agreed. $10 for a "shelf" saison is great at that size. The only brewery that I know that makes a quality saison cheaper is GI with Sofie.

[For reference - I believe Suarez are closer to $15-25 for a 750 depending on the beer.]

I got lucky then, I guess! I just feel that in comparison with the likes of HF and SARA, these are easier to trade for but are on the same echelon.

I just discovered bare bottle in SF. They don't even seem to have a thread in the pacific forum and I had never heard of them. Mostly seems like they can/bottle hazies but they also offer crowlers in 16 and 32 so you could probably score that if it's your scene

Suarez is about subtlety. They can pilsners and Kolsch not hazey juice bombs. That is why there is no hype. While it is close to NYC in theory. It is really out of the way. It is a good hour and half outside the city.

That being said, there is a good amount of hype about Suarez. If I post that i am drinking a Suarez in WBAYDN, i often get pm's asking if I have any trade.

To add to this - there's a guy (one specifically) that was looking for their canned pilz for...awhile. Months if I recall (on the trade boards). Just could not find anyone to even send him a PM as far as I recall.

This is obviously a trick question, as everyone knows that a beer can't be good without hype behind it.

Another one I just thought of is Live Oak from texas, if you like euro styles they make great stuff and I got to try it on a random locals 4 locals, seems in their distro their cans are widely available and reasonably priced.

Agree on all those, thinking of trading for more Buckley variants they are so good and Traxxx one of my favorites. I will add Arclight Soursmith Black Raspberry. It’s harder to trade for since no one wants to give it up for going rate. The stuff is incredible and truly a under valued gem as far as the national hype scene.

    Ruckley is awesome too!

Another overall brewery with less hype and amazing barrel aged beers is Pipeworks. I had The Abduction a few weeks ago and it was phenomenal.

+1. Came here to say the exact same thing. I don't understand why they don't get more recognition for their barrel program but I'm fine with being able to stroll in and get whatever I want on a Friday afternoon.

Because they're not all about the pastry stouts like More, RAM, Mikerphone, etc... I love my pastry stouts as much as the next guy, but I also love a nice big boozy barrel-aged non adjunct stout.

They make some killer barrel aged wild ales that are readily available at their brewery to go and at nearby markets in Tacoma, WA. A lot of their beers are on par with De Garde IMO. They use pounds of local fruit and age their beer in oak barrels. They are LEGIT.

Really impressed by Ology Brewing, especially the coffee stouts and the sours.

I'm not sure if you're looking for exclusive, trade-able beers or just really good, under-valued beer, but in case of the latter, Epic's Big Bad Baptist is amazing and not very expensive compared to a lot of other BA bombers. It continues to wow me every time I have it and I still appreciate it more than most of what is in my collection. Every person I've talked to about BBB has loved it. It's still not available in a lot of states, so it's trade-able. I was able to buy a whole case at $6/bottle a couple years ago. I'm still very much enjoying that batch!

Best thing about this is every batch is a different coffee if I remember correctly so it would be almost like trying a new beer every time.

It is really humbling and mind blowing when you sit back and think about how much delicious beer we have available to us these days. As good as many of the traditional beer brewing countries beer culture is and has been I am constantly reminded (sometimes by threads like this) that it is unlikely that there has ever been a better timeplace to be a beer lover than right now in the US. The hype status beers might be truly elevated in quality (I'm dubious) and they could still be totally ignored while still being buried in an amazing variety of amazingly delicious beer. Cheers to this
